both need 200 ship handling proficiency...and the max ship handling proficiency for standard ship is around 120...more than that = heavy..

The only vantage point that MF has is 5 broadsides, statistic wise, this ship is better, would really wanna see a match up between MF & CAS and see which prevails

Gotta say, I'm really happy with this ship so far for lvling. It's better than I expected. I see no reason that it wouldn't be good in pvp against similar classed ships.

Just a heads up, the ship skills on UWOtool are listed incorrectly. The correct skills set (listed correctly in an earlier comment) is actually:

Special smoke bomb (Special high explosives + Metal work)
Nanban Trade Preference (E. Asia Nanban Trade Ship Hold + Warehouse)
Demolition work (Control tower + Set of dismantling tools)
Pre-emptive attack (Traverse rope + Mast top)

This is important due to this ships status as an Astro mat ship.
