Here I my finds, my contribution to this article:

1.- Rank 1 and 2 don't yield eny exp, ie: cooking or storage r1 or r2 recipes will give no experience even if the other requeriments are met (be at sea sailing [moving], having a ship with ANY skill).

2.- Any recipes equal or above r3 gives experience to manamagement but only great success will add points to rank up management.

3.- It is false that high rank recipes gives more management experience than low rank recipes.

I tested management with managemente r5, cooking r14 and storege r13; cooking recipes rank 1, 3, 5, 12; storage recipes 1, 7, 10, 11, 13.

Ah, I almost forgot, there is a unlisted item in this DB, an accesory that add +1 management, +1 procurement, with effect (can't remember which effect, I own that item, lol), 30/30 durability named gold manager's ledger. It is a shipwreck loot from a 9* SW.

I started with r1 management and grinded EU Armour which is an r11 casting.. in a few hours I got to r4-5... after a few days I was able to get r7-8...

When Atlantis concludes and chapter 1 of the Age of Revolution update comes, the three ship skills (Navigation, Management, Arms) will have their max level cap raised to R15. New ship skills and recipes taking advantage of this will also begin to be introduced.

Skill cap for this has been raised to R15 now. While it serves little, if any, purpose for now its usefulness will shine in the next major update, Age of Revolution where their will be new (as Guilder pointed out) ship skills and recipes taking advantage of this.

Japan just got a new update to Age of Revolution - CH3 Age of Reason and in it they introduce two new jobs, one of which is Steam engineer who has expert skill in Management and favors Navigation AND Arms. This allows you to use the new ship skill "Steam Power" that requires both R12 Navigation and Management easier.

Unlisted body equippable: Crimson Smuggler's Jacket
Male-only, but gives +2 Management (plus Jewellry trading +3 and Metal trading +2). It was a bottle drop long ago at the beginning of 2nd Age; I still see them in company shops from time to time.

There's an accessory from a North America West coast/Canada shipwreck called "Gold Manager's Ledger" with Management +1 with an effect (don't lose durability)
together with the head piece from the East Asian Festival Bag that costs 10m at Helder, there's no need to pay the billion + people asking for that Crimson Smuggler's Jacket

Very nice tip, didn't know about the shipwreck item. However, I'm sure there will still be a market for the Jacket in some capacity, for those who fancy the extra inventory slot that essentially comes with it.

Qing Pao Armour (+1 body, nanban gifting reward)
Academic Gown (+1 body, reward for completing oxford)
Contribution Coat (+1 body, MA reward)
Sarafan (+1 body, female only, MA reward)
Russian officials' coat (+1 body, from Bona Confidenta SW)
Long vest and half Kaftan (+1 body, male-only, can be crafted in colony when NPC named Ivanka is available there, need to do immigration quest to make her available in colony)
