Can't decide whether to put this on MNG... +2 doesnt seem to attractive...

I think you guys need to clarify, this thing gives +2 STEERING hidden value NOT +2 TURN
For those who will inevitably not understand what I just said, if you have r10 steering, this will +2 to your current rank
Go figure if that's useful or not :)

yeah but isn't +1 steering = +1 turn speed? At least this is what you read when you go look in the coments of steering...

why would anybody fit this skill to any battleship, i have no idea, try using a painter rope in your improvements, has anybody even seen this skill on a battleship ...i mean ever...

Chester

maybe useful on the merchant long schooner (6xstudding sail) if you wanna go from plymouth to seville without a 3point-turn...

@Igor:
Because you can add armor parts instead of painter rope if you have this? Or you can just even even more turn with this? Also, some ships just don't have enough good skills, like MNG, you would use Improve Gunport, but then what? Sail Sewing Skill? But you can just use spare sails... Command Post? That does not work against great disorder so you should have leadership anyway and if you're in ESF or BC chances are someone else might already have Command Post seeing it's on virtually all top-tier ships... Armor Piercing Bullet? But using that means you'll have to give up evasion or shot defense or one of the cannon skills, and it's useless if you use carro14... So that's why you'd see it on battle ships :)

By great-disorder I mean "chaos" sorry :)

well then go ahead and use it then sail next to some with exact same set up except this skill n tell us its way better than command post. the reason people fit command post is because you mostly grind alone this means you aint gotta worry bout leadership
less work you gotta do easier it is to win

last time i fitted this to a ship was when i was in btc (carrack OS before inprovements) it was on my ship about 3days
i couldnt tell the difference turn was just as slow i swapped for heavy bombing

keep adding those armour parts and this skill would be obsolete as your ship would take near a week to turn

Sonia .. Do u have the requirement to active the skill ? Management r7 and navigation r7 ...

+2 steering helps a lot with reducing mine damage also the parts themselves give good stats

Miyo

It is good on nordic galleon unless you feel insecure about getting disorder then instant melee'd otherwise control tower does not add as much as this. Put it another way, D-Gaff gives +2 turn and is worth almost a bil now this gives +2 steering I don't know the formula but they are both usually within 10-20 range so perhaps they are comparable but anyway steering reduce mine damage too!

DustyB02-19-2013

From my point. If you do FS. The control towel material improve +1~+3 turning which will be shown. In addition, the improved rudder skill could have a hidden effect of +2 turning. So in total, it could get +5 max effect.
But for original ship skill. It only have the hidden +2 turning effect. +2 is not that minimal from my experience.

PAC and their secret to improving ships... They don't deserve to know what other players have found out and share if they themselves aren't willing to share what they know...

Nicola

if u add this as original skill then u just get +2 hidden
Yukihisa04-01-2014
Is this good for adv ships? for example large clipper?

Euron
04-01-2014
Not really in my opinion. I would add Emergancy Acceleration and Wind-resistant mast to a large clipper, with High Lookout as original.

Ming Mei

trust me , this skill is useless , with this skill u will have 2ts for moding part , 2 ts from 2 steering rank , that means u'll get 4 , with 2 painter rope u'll have 6

Laurencio

What would be your adds for CLMS then? EA and what else?

Nina
04-01-2014
EA/AC/and HL , u'll be able to use surveying/fishing/frugality while sailing , and maybe procuring/collecting if u dont use surveying , AC is a great skill for trader , since it helps your aide lvl faster , which will soon give u more cargo

Erda

work shop is a choice too if u make stuffs alot

Euron
04-01-2014
Agree with Nina about the CLMS skill build to use it as a sailing ship.... Erda I'd build a manila galleon with workshop and use that for management/crafting outside ports.

So, this skill on my ship will secretly improve my Steering skill in 2 ranks? This means that even if my ship is moded to its max turning speed, it will turn better because i'll have +2 steering?
