Japanese and Taiwan wikis do a lot of testing like finding the complex formulas of how ship speed and melee attack/defense and land battle stats etc are calculated.

Bahamut Wiki (one of the most prominent Chinese wiki) offers a different formula than the one recently listed here which was something like every 10 armour gives -50 damage from broadside and -10 from critical.
Bahamut's formula is:
(armour/100) x (1/2) x 100% = ????
with 60 armour you get 30% damage reduction from broadsides
with 80 armour you get 40% damage reduction from broadsides
with 100 armour you get 50% damage reduction from broadsides
anything above 100 armour is wasted as 50% is max you get

There's no armour cap, tested with Pirate_Seymour 130 armour, r19 pene/accu/ballis and master carro set (1072 and under) do -180 on him

each armor -5 dam from sides and -1 from cri. that's the correct formula. The above one is wrong!

This skill is awesome. In my personal experience this skills has like a (evasion) effect where the cannons barely hit the ship. Playing against players is a different story, I notice I still had to repair intensively where as NPC were so easy

the reason I like this skill is because the auto-effect and not all ships are modded to have 100 armor . so getting 90+ hidden 10 will suffice

it only cost 1 original shipbuilding permit so test it with it off then see if u have 50 less damage wit hit on (1 armor = 5 less damage)

I have a tough question guys. Hope will get some answers :)
This skill adds 10 armour (hidden value). Armour increases acceleration in battle. Many believe that armour increases acceleration outside battle too.
So, my question is:
Taking all written above into account, does this skill increase acceleration outside battle?

for me...armor do increase acceleration outside battle...but...10 armor is too tiny to notice it outside battle...
hmm....use 3 of
Master's Hardened Steel Plating might give ya a bit of accel..but it will cause ya the max ship speed...

Yes, Deep Sea Beech Platings are better for long distance sailing, but I will be using them and for short distances - don't want to have 3 of both types, it would take too much space in inventory.
