If this skill gives +5 or even +3 armor bonus combined with its reducing fire damage capabilities then it would actually be usable...

Is this skill also have effect on trade goods ?
Like from South East Asia , we take some spice like nutmeg cloves mace ,,
When its burn otw to eu ,,is this can reduce trade goods (spice) volume ?
Like without this skill its burn 200 nutmeg , when have this skill on ship its reduce to 70 nutmeg ?
Or just lessen dura of the ship ?

I wish this adds some armour too pretty useless right now can't imagine anyone would use this over another skill.

this is amazing for a spice runner, or a sewer. greatly reduces fire damage. 100s traits on fire prevention, dosent prevent all fires. losing 100+ spice makes trips alot less profitable/.

Spice and Nanban Trade is back in full swing due to nerfing of dungeons. What does this skill actually do ? Prevent lesser fire damage to ship ? Prevent lesser lost of trade goods due to fire on ship ?

Well, when a fire starts aboard your ship, about 20% of a randomly picked trade good [one that's capable of being burnt that is] will be burnt. Having this on your ship will reduce it to 5%. I usually recommend getting an aide with Fire prevention skill to prevent fires all together then waste a ship skill slot.
