ok say I have handicraft rank18 what gives best chance of great success this skill on ship or +1 rank at colony ?

this skill, +1 rank in colony only raises your rank so you can make r19 handi stuffs but it doesn't mean success rate will also be raised. Workshop will give you a beer chance of success than normal production.

to my workshop be "active" do i need to be moving around like when i rank up managememt skill or anchored outside port will do?

almost positive you don't have to be moving. i haven't tested it, but it seems like great successes don't seem to improve while moving.

no one can confirm this since its all about % of GS, though I assume you should be moving since: "Raise the success of sewing, casting, and production of industrial arts, ""whilst"" at sea."

I just got this skill on my BTC and I can confirm that you do need to be sailing for this to work. The end results are not earth shattering however; expect to get just a small boost to your chance of getting great success while at sea. I do see a bigger difference while using this in conjunction with the Oxford skills though.

I don't think there is any debate about whether or not you have to be out of port or not, it's whether or not you have to be underway, like management. One day I'll compare great successes while anchored vs great successes while moving. To be safe I'd say go ahead and raise anchor and be moving around.

Why would you not want to be moving for sea production anyway, unless you had max management?

actually if u don't do adv , don't do trade , and rich , u need only r8 for WMB , more than that is useless

don't sure alchemy count on this too..or not.because it do say " success of SEWING, CASTING , and production of industrial arts[how can be anything else beside HANDICRAFT]"

Doesn't really matter for alchemy really, there are a few recipes from books but the core alchemy is done in land, where workshop has 0 effect

Workshop has no effect on alchemy...There are ONLY 3 things that affect success of alchemy and they are...

1.Magician Tarot(Increase success of all crafts and alchemy)
2.Master's Secret Astro Item:100% success on next craft
3.Adept's title(Increase success of alchemy. Awarded at Rank 13 BASE Alchemy)

POSSIBLE 4 (didnt test this yet) Higher Alchemy Rank means more success with alchemy. I tested this with regular crafting and higher ranks doesnt affect it....Not sure about alchemy as its...different but if you had my guess now I would say no from what I've seen so far

Boots definitely, cannons maybe, other products... not really. Recipes that matter are mostly in town/farm/factory/quaters.
