This is great ship
fast enough. From seville to Jakarta takes only 27 days with oxford and 50% booster. So impressive.

cruise light clipper has faster sail speeds and clc has less cargo, check it

Impressive = Oxford + Booster
Hmmmmm... Probably this would be impressive for a paying newcomer though. Other than that, there are many great options ... not forgetting the Graduation Sambuk :) .

This is a good ship, it's just that there are many, many better ones out there. As your levels rise, it will ultimately become outclassed. That said, I know I want one just for the novelty of it; like a sports car you buy not because it's practical, but because it looks cool.

@Sophia you realise this is possibly the worst ship for ESF?

i like it coz its cute, it has EA and "Reference Room" (i suggest you take a look at what it does). its unconventional but i think a very feasible adventure ship.

is it fast?
xNiccix04-08-2014
It's supposed to be fast since it is an adventure ship, but it's going to take quite a few mods to improve its stats. I think personally the San Gabriel is a much better adventure ship to choose. You will see people trying to sell Santa Maria tickets for 100 to even 300m, it's absolutely ridiculous. They just ask such a high price because they spent astros to buy the sailor's bottle and got the ship. If you look at the San Gabriel, which most Shipbuilders can build in Porto - you can build a SG for around 35m.
The SG and SM both won't be good ships if you don't mod them though, so you have to be prepared to mod them (which can run into the high 100 millions, if not a billion). Your other good options would probably be a BTC, CLC or Tow Cutter (or even Xebec Tug), but the main reason you would want the SM or SG is the for the Room Reference mod.
I want to ask someone (please no trolls), which ship the see as the best for raising shipwrecks? I'm not talking about if you have a very high rank for salvaging etc. but if you have r5 or so. Also the San Gabriel can obviously only have 2 ship skills (until much later) so the obvious first choice would be EA and then RR (because why else get the SG/SM then). But another useful skill to have is Haul Assistance, so dumb question (probably): If you want to have an adventure ship for your aide to do the shipwrecks etc. which ship? Would it make sense to have 2 San Gabriels (one for you and one for your aide) or would that just be a dumb thing to do?
Also another problem is cargo space. As an adventurer you obviously want the fastest ship possible - but if you also do some trading and don't want to swap ships all the time, you rely on your aide's ship to have the most cargo space. If you configure a second SG to have max cargo and 2 other skills, would that be dumb?
Thanks

Well, the one thing to bear in mind is that when Ship Fusion eventually comes, and no, I'm not sure what update/chapter that will be in, the RR mod will be possible to fuse on to a number of far better adventure-type ships than just the SM (which is junk, frankly) and the SG (which has more potential, at least).
Having said that, having two SGs is certainly possible, but you have to ask yourself if it's worth the time and resources for you to build two completely opposite ships (one speedy, one cargo-y) out of a single model. Mixing and matching might work better, depending on the level of your aide (I plan to do Quebec/SG, personally). Of shipwrecks, I know naught, but I've been told that the larger the ship size and crew, the better you'll do when it comes to the heavy-duty wrecks. Perhaps somebody else would care to weigh in on these points.

yeap , size and crew is the most important , especially size , but its for the first 10 rank of salvage only , after r10 , u can use whatever ship u want without worry , if there should be a problem just use boosters for salvage or switch ship at nearby port
xNiccix04-08-2014
@MIng Mei I can just imagine how good the Cruising High Clipper is, but until I reach adv 75 it's not an option... so until then I have to look at other ships and weigh my options, but thank you for your valuable input...
@Guilder & Claudia
Thanks for your input :) I got a SG but I'm still debating whether or not to fully mod it or what exactly. I'm looking for a fast adv ship. As I understand the SG is pretty fast (if you fully mod it) and its crew size and the fact that it's a heavy ship helps a great deal with shipwrecks (and because you can put Haul Assistance on it), that's why I wondered if it's a smart idea to have 2 SG's, one for Shipwrecks (Haul Assistance and Casting Net) and one that's built for speed with a RR. I know there are other good adventuring ships out there, like the CLC as an example, of which I also looked at. Maybe I'm putting too much value on the RR mod, but that's what made me choose the SG over the CLC (for now at least).
Guilder04-08-2014
Then, xNiccix, I think you may have your answer: two SGs would meet your needs quite nicely at this time, and thus would be worth the investment. Worst case, you can always sell one of them off later on if you find a better deal, or gain more levels. Just my two ducats, mind; some more research on the in-game channels and assorted forums might be a good idea before committing to anything, as always. Good sailing to you.
