prices are based on time. It takes a player 15 mins to get 15 esbt's giving them 15mil. So an FS part for 15 mins of effort is a good trade off.

No they aren't. They're based on supply & demand and are driven down by competition. Finally there's competition. It can only be a good thing. Those crafters who find it's not worth it anymore can drop it and go to Syracuse themselves instead. I will keep crafting for myself and friends and sell any extra for reasonable prices as I've always been doing.

Your reaction it gave me a very good laugh this morning.Keep in mind a player that makes FS parts doesnt sail for 1 part, a player makes more parts at once. So ur conclusion of ESBT vs Fs part is so wrong that even wrong isnt the right word for it.

It takes 15 min to sail to the caribs and 15 min back ----> this is a 30 min effort ----> does this mean its automaticly a 30m fs part ? if so fs parts 15m ea are still too cheap by ur calculations since in the same time u can collect 30 ESBT.


Those who try to make the FS parts cheaper keep up the good work im sure many players support your efforts and appriciate it.

One day very recently, I checked Portugal's IQ level, and it was barely at .01% out of the required maximum despite having been some time since the relaunch. Less than an hour later on the same day, red GM text starts broadcasting for -everyone- to go pick up their suddenly available East Coast of LA permits, and that same Portuguese IQ level was maxed out completely. That suggests GM influence to me, particularly since I heard it was the same story for other nations and their IQ level on the same exact day.

Yes bonny, that's correct but only for ECLA. Papaya thought that unlocking the IQs for the players would make us happy. However, after the backlash from many players...the CAs have reached out the GM team to not interfere with IQ process anymore. Thus this was a one-time thing, and IQs should not be GM tampered with again.

Hum, I'd have been happier to get my old character data transferred, as I imagine many others would've. But I never said the tweaks applied beyond the initial IQ, only that development levels could have been adjusted as well. But if players want to make things needlessly difficult for themselves and others for some reason, that's their business. Such is the sad fate of Maris server, I guess.

To clarify a bit about what WSP said, yes East Coast of Latin America was intentionally instacompleted. The rationale for this is because Navigation/arms/management are all only obtainable in this region, and those skills are critical to obtain prior to doing any serious grinding, particularly for arms/management. Honestly this should have been done before Maris even launched, but better late than never, and this was the only IQ that I felt we needed to skip.

For the other ones, we've had some discussions about how to proceed (which included player input from both sides of the issue), but ultimately I hope it will be left alone; I feel that it's simply just too late to make any changes, as they would favor one group or nation over another.

It is possible that something might change later on down the line, though, particularly if some of the small nations are experiencing the same difficulties as say Portugal is right now. But my vote is (and always has been) to allow this aspect of the game to play itself out as it was initially designed, even if it allows one nation to gain a sizable advantage over the others (since this is how the system was initially set up anyway; nations that do the work reap the benefits). There's a very prevalent but unproven theory(which also sounds plausible) that the "uproar" over unlocking the Port Permits for us was caused by a group of high level real cash players that were mostly from one nation, company and character type, who, because they use a lot of real cash to buy in game stuff like the packs with ships were able to be very prepared when the East Coast of Latin/South America "suddenly" opened up and it was possible to start doing the the SEA IQ's. Some even say that they had advance warning about it. That group made a fortune selling SEA spice because they got there first, and were able to slow others down because of their character type. In other words, the theory is that this server is being manipulated by one group of high spending real cash players that are mostly pirates and privateers. And that Papaya Play will turn a blind eye to it all as long as the real cash flows in to their coffers. And the reason this sounds so plausible? It sounds almost exactly like what happened with Netmarble.....

False. I was highly vocal to people like the CAs because of this decision, my company was not in favour of releasing "free permits" either.


Your "theory" makes absolutely NO sense, the complaining was from several sides and nations... and the people that unlocked SEA (that takes days, not just a blink) are and were working towards the EA goal.


"A group of high level cash players" wouldn't care about SEA, they would keep spending cash and selling to players without having to grind IQs like madmans. Nothing else happened here other than a decision taken by PP that a high % of the server disagreed with, so they reversed it.


Go back to grind IQs and develop carib settlement for your nation. o/

I wouldn't be surprised if collusion of some manner existed behind the scenes, nor am I surprised that there are those who would hate the idea of fully restoring previously unlocked content for absurd notions such as it being "free" and a "cheat" of some sort. I suppose if I had that amount of free time to invest in the game, and held so little value in the actual worth of said time, I might feel the same.

Regardless, I find my strategy to unlocking things is the best: sit back and let others do all of the hard work for me, then swoop in at the last moment and claim whatever I want via their own laborious efforts, giving a minimal effort/contribution. I call this approach the "Papaya Play." Grind away, fellow players. I wholeheartedly appreciate your efforts on my behalf.

"Absurd notions" being that it's a feature of the game? We also previously unlocked all developed ports, colonies, settlements, etc. Doesn't matter, it's the way the game is designed, don't like it? Keep crying.


And don't worry, most nations are not expecting their bad, selfish or lazy players to help with IQs. Keep doing your personal grind thinking you will ever beat those that are progressing the game for you.

Lol, i love these fake names making claims for or against unlocking server wide items. Enjoy the game!

Every once in a while I contribute to the server and drop off items that make sense for caribbean development, other times I focus on grinding skills that are important to me, and other times I spend my time helping others accomplish whatever goal they want.

There are no rules. Just enjoy yourself. Thank you to those who are militant about unlocking the most efficient benefits and thank you to those ignorant to their existance. You all make UWO an enjoyable experience.

Just to make clear, if it sounded like I was being derogatory toward portugal, that was not the intent. I shouldn't have mentioned specific nations, but a comparison between the progress of Spain and Portugal provided the best example of the IQ gap between nations.

One of my favorite things about UWO is that each nation is very unique in it's structure, objectives, and challenges. The larger nations have more people power but also have much higher attainment goals, while some smaller nations have decentralized leadership, less manpower or simply have different priorities or other objectives they'd like to do with their game.

We'll all make it to EA in due time. And even those who don't get there first will still get to reap the benefits indirectly, by way of availability of new goods, ships, parts, and recipes. Surely, if you/your alts aren't one of the nations who arrives first, you know someone who is that can help you out. And if not, PM me, I'm happy to help in any way that I can.

That is totally false. Cash Shop items are not plunderable. Papaya website states that. Way to throw more confusion into a messy already, you troll.

How about everyone stops complaining about useless nothing, and just plays the game. If you spent the same time doing IQs that you do crying on forums, you wouldn't have to worry about any of this.

I've heard rumors of cash shop items being stolen, but I've yet to see a screenshot of it. If anyone does either plunder something or have something plundered that falls outside the list of things Papaya said should be plunderable, please screenshot and submit a ticket and I will be happy to call it to GM's attention.

This is a generalized comment not directed at anyone: When people are claiming they stole/lost items that are not supposed to be plunderable, my immediate reaction is to the credibility of the claim rather than the credibility of the system. Yes, it's plausible that there's a "glitch in the matrix" or a data integrity loss or security breech or something. BUT, it's a whole lot more likely that the person who said this happened is either mistaken or presenting a fabrication.

If anyone gets a cash shop item stolen, take a screenshot and I'll be happy to report it to GM. If it's legit, I won't stop until you are refunded for it. We're working on a list of items that are plunderable/unplunderable, but bear in mind, that will take some time to sort out as it is a massive list. And remember, Founder's items ARE NOT necessarily Astro items (case and point; the +22/+22 equippable sails. Those ARE plunderable, because they're not the ones in the astro shop).

These can made at Busan, Nagasaki, Anping, or Hangzhou with the Sailmaker NPC. Spain and Netherlands have just recently unlocked EA, which is why you just started seeing them up for sale. (You can also make these at your nation's Caribbean territory port (again with the Sailmaker NPC), but they require a rather high development level before they will show up. As they all have still low development levels, these were pretty much unobtainable til now...)
