Slower than btc , this ship is very slow to compared to same class ship

i know this was two months ago, but very slow is a bad comparison. Mine takes only about 8-9 days longer to get from lisbon to Tamsui then my CLC. I have done trip in many seasons also.

                                                          10-24-2012
I agree with Mei Hua. if you compare between the ship stats. The different between the base stats is almost 0. The different that can effect speeds are cargo hold (about 30 different), turn, waves, 2 extra sails.
BTC can only do 2/4 improves for now, and 4/4 max. The best you can get with a BTC is likely to be max improve in sails, maybe around total 6 turns, 15 waves (after using 5 sets of -1 sails).
MTLC can do 8/8 improves, and you can get max sails, roughly 20 turns, 30 waves (w/o d sails/storm sails). or you can max turn, waves also with extra cargo depends on how many d sails you use)

The turning in ship effect in the turn speed and acceleration, so it makes a big different to the ship speed.
Also waves effect the top speed of the ship. roughtly 1 waves resistance = 0.8~1% extra top speed.

if you put the MLTC with sails (22/25/-1 x3, 11v x2), it can have about 420v 480h, and 30 waves... lets say you can about 25% extra top speed from waves restsitance. You will end up with about 520v,600h during sailing. I don't know how to work it out in knots.. since it changes in wind/current anway.
While BTC (22/25/-1 x5 and 11v x2) can get 460v 520h and the waves will possibly gives 12% top speed. So it will be around 520v 580h.

So the 8/8 improves gives veru good benefit to the top speed and also turns speed for acceleration too. 8/8 MTLC should not be marked as slow ship.

                                                          Mei Hua
                                                          10-24-2012
turn rate does not affect acceleration, it affects how much the ship slows down while turning and how long it takes to complete the turn. Other than that fairly accurate I would say.

Not really fair to compare NC and non-NC ships however, compare this to a NC version of a BTC and see what you get.

i see alot of comments about speed as if you're planning on using as your main ship which is understandable, but i use this only for my aide ship, fast, minimum 23 sailors to sail this with great cargo. yet i wouldnt sell this ship for less than 2bil. many other 1k cargo NC ships (also around 2bil right now) that can be used by an aide require more sailors, less speed, less improves etc, so i prefer this ship.

so because you max hold in 2 steps you get 2 penalties
