That's true. The EA's demand for EA goods was probably supposed to encourage the internal EA trade.
The 1:3 nerf killed it right on start. The 1:2 ratio, that might be on GAMA soon, won't bring it to life either.
Instead, it encourages dungeoning the goods out.
Nothing wrong with it of course - just finding it ironic :)

Nanban is sure fun, even with that pesky 1:3 nerf on you can fill the hold by collecting stuff around. And money's just money - you need it to buy things, not to collect it.

Donce: I'd skip trying to sell fabrics in Nagasaki - check out the backstock section. Sakai should be fine though, once you get an access (5000 contribution will get you there quickly).

@ Hernan - Apparently you haven't done much nanban trade or aren't doing it right. I can get 2/1 all day with a ship with nanban skill pref., trading skills, and trading my goods at the right place. Just like everything else it takes time to learn. Happily now I can get 50-100m per sailing trip and I don't even have max cargo ships. I can only imagine how much the pro nanban traders are getting. LESSON - Don't listen to noobs who tell you the sky is falling.

Stop giving false examples of namban trade profits! Yes, its possible to sell stuff with 99.9M profit, but... how much TIME was needed to get that goods!? Isnt just sailing to EA and back, you need to get the goods to exchange, to fill 40% of the ship (with preference)... so, you need more time to fill the rest. It takes time, AND fast goods in SEA arent 100% efficient and you are with 40% of the cargo hold occupied, so you could need 2 more barters... still adding time. And go back, and found a good selling price... isnt as easy as some people says!

With the current issues with ESBT, obviously Nanban suffers, more so with the 3:1, and at best 2.5:1 regardless what skill ur putting in whatsoever without the purveyor stuff. When Lunar-theQueen wrote the Nanban guide in forum she left 1 thing out of the guide: U need to be a multiboxer like her or the other multiboxers with 4-5 toons to actually able to make a profit better than dungeons.

I'm sure there are better examples but here is what I find to work very well.. I have a Saint Lucia farm. I sail to the SA North Plateau and find the stacked boulder just west of the entrance.

i use procure (R8) and collect berries at very quickly. I after I'm at my limit, I run back to Saint Lucia and convert the berries to raisins.

Once done, I then convert to wine. Wine is the top Alcohol choice of Japan. Then I just wait for the next festival to cash in.

Give it a try, I'm sure their are better ideas, but it works for me and I've really leveled procurement doing this process.
