range seems to cap off at 1062, but you break the boat a bit by doing so. You could do improvements to add another 40, so it looks like 1102 is absolute maximum with no regard to how bad you degrade performance.

effective range is 1025, again you can add 40 cargo with improvements, but to do so would take away from wave resistance or turn rate. If it were me, I would call 1025 more than plenty and make it into the beast of a big-go-fast boat that it can be.

yes you will miss out on a round of improvement. If you can get that skill via original or optional skills you would be better off to reset the boat. if it is a skill that cannot be put on the boat in any way then you have to weigh your options, but if you do not reset the boat it won't be as good as it could have been.

This ship was in 4-5b like 3-4 months before. Same as before and same as now especially its still in Tbox. Also lots of Asian ships are out there since EA arrived which also has about the same or even more cargo space/sail. This will not reach 7-8b that is overpriced.

FLC is already around 8b and I highly doubt it someone will make a trade for an ETC against FLC.

What gives the price-fixer to fix the price at a certain range? People would want to buy the ship as low as 1 ducat and the seller would want to sell as high as they could, as long as agreement can be reached, there's no requirement to follow the fixed range, because people keep using the fixed range as guidance / reference, the market cannot operate freely, and prices are stucked at that range, eventhough most of the tme, supply and demands changes...my point is, fixing a price range for ships is absurd, and it is always manipulated

Well, yes and no. The max number of sailors will decrease, when for instance you'll use the money chests to increase your hold. So the opposite statement of yours is also true for such case.

a ship part that decreases max sailors will not add any cargo to the ship unless the part specifically says it does. It also does not decrease hull size therefore somehow making the ship faster (see aide cabin). A lot of confusion and flat out misinformation running around.

parts that derecrease sailors also adds cargo (money chest, warehouse, workshop) Normally -4/0 crew, +4/8 cargo (+2/6 workshop and galley). So, in that cases, total hold almost always is a little higher -it depends success rates-. Parts that add crew, like infirmancy and recreation room (+2/6) decreases cargo (-4/0), but total cargo is again a little higher. Total cargo/hull size is crew chambers + gun ports + cargo hold

This is very true. In fact, use of Delphin sails isn't necessarily a selling point at all. A buyer sees someone shout a commment like further up and assumes it'll be overpriced as a result. It's often true, due to idiots using Delphin sails without using the right supporting parts to max out the stats.

The post above mine is a good example. 7b for a shit mod. +4 turn on an 8/8 ETC is pathetic. Mine took two dstorm and 1 gaff, has maxed turn, maxed wr, maxed sails, 3 skills... It can be done, some people just... don't.

this have 8 improvements and dont needs extra durability and armor. Without D sails anyone can add +18 tun and +12 WR just from painter rope and traverse rope... and that for sure is better than a lot of overpriced build because the (bad) use of Dolphin sails

If you can get the same effect without the delphins, it's generally a waste. Unless there are other stats you want to improve, and the delphins let you still max turn and wave in the process, it's generally not a waste. If there's no other way to max your turn and wr, definitely not a waste.

The main problem is people using these sails and thinking they don't still need the painter rope and anti rolling tanks. So they end up with turn and wr about equal to what they would have got using non-NC parts, but instead wasted billions on sails to do it.

You can use 4 D storm, 3 NORMAL large gaff, EA skill (antifouling paint) + high lookout (high quality rigging + mast top) + 3 traverse ropes (or General Large Anti-rolling Tank from craftman) + 8 painter rope and you max sails, turn and wave (with room for fails)... and still 2 slots left for more cargo or even armor. Delphin storm are a lot easier to get than delphin gaff, also.

About how delphin sails can add a lot of value, it could be reasonable to ask a lot more as long the sails are used in a mas sails/turn/WR, or max sails/cargo/high turn/highest WR possible. Using that sails to reach bonuses obtainable with game parts adds no value.

You clearly don't know the first thing about modding ships if you're conflating modded +cargo and going with the +25% penalty, as I clearly said you can correct for the +25% penalty. You just can't correct for that penalty AND add +41 cargo in the build AND have decent other stats. There just aren't enough slots.

Now you're not making any sense.

It's actually not quite as bad as I thought, IF you go with 5 Dstorms and 2 Dgaffs* you can actually get +18 turn/wr and still pull off the +81 cargo from penalty and parts.

Build #40405 if anyone is interested.

I'd love to see if someone can do better. How close to max can we get?

Note: This build only allows for EA as skill, that plus an OSS should be enough for anyone determined to push stats as far as they can go.

*2 DGaffs and 5 DStorms is insane for an ETC. That's adding about 5b to the build cost for that +41 cargo from parts. This is a hypothetical build only, unless you're so rich you just don't care.

For ships like this or any trade or adventure ship what you want is Weathered cedar plating(+2 Armour, -0 Ship speed). I have 3 on my ETeaC and they do help increase ship acceleration without any loss to ship speed. Also, I do think the ETeaC is the best overall "Utility" ship, not the best trade ship(RBTC is) and not the best adventure ship(MLS or CCClipper are) but works very well for either trade or adventure.
