Hi! Trying to raise my appraisal rank (base r4). Any recs on a good strategy for how to do that, like how the Venice archive map to Naples is good for Art skill?

well i'd say just sail around the world do whatever u want and it will rank up eventually , but however for r4 .... with some booster u can surely do some r7 r8 Qs at Jakarta/Calicut

There's quite a few Appraisal maps in the archives in Alexandria. Same in Athens and Venice.

If you don't mind losing out on QMPs and have at least Red Sea port permits, try gathering Blue Gem Ore Vein Map in bulk. Discover the map at Arabian Sea Northeast Coast, sail to nearby Muscat, report the discovery to al-Ghawri, then go right back to the landing zone and re-discover the map, then go back and re-report... as many times as you like, and have maps for.

You won't get a QMP reward from al-G since he doesn't like Treasure discoveries, but it's a very close, surprisingly convenient little loop, and good for higher skill proficiency gains. Well, that's just one possible avenue you could choose to follow, of course. Happy treasure hunting, mates.
