My thoughts exactly, Blake.
ThatOneGuy02-17-2015
'ey, if one job did everything we wanted it to, how often would we change out of it? MMOs gotta keep us jumpin' through hoops, even at the highest levels! And besides, Trap's useful for fending off landing zone baddies, not just dungeons.
FB_Yeestar02-17-2015
got the job, its related to the xanadu quest line...dont know current disco max, but im currently at 2245 and have loads to do still :)
Euron02-18-2015
That's rly good news Yeestar, ty. I'm a bit over 1800 and i was worried i was about to be done with my adventure career... It would suck... :D
Me02-18-2015
I agree Blake, in the immortal words of Maxwell Smart: "Missed it[sic] by THAT much." for being the "perfect" Adventure job by having Trap instead of Ecological Research favored. And I ran dungeons in Hunter job because I used a Shining Golden Bow, and the only Battle job that favors Sniping is Musketeer(the new job Marine Corps will favor it as well), which is 14m+ to switch to without a card. But then, Chef is the "perfect" Cooking job for mid levels/ranks characters except for having Observe favored instead of Livestock Trading(and I have yet to figure THAT particular one out xD).
Guilder02-18-2015
How about Treasure Hunter not favoring Search? Ocean Explorer not favoring Surveying? Hunter, despite the name of the job sounding like it ought to, not favoring Trap? I don't think any one job is ever 100% perfect. I'd have thought that this job would feature astronomy, though. You see an awful lot of stars as somebody "who travels across the oceans trying to explore every part of the earth".
Me02-18-2015
You're absolutely right Gulder, seems like a lot of the jobs have a "Fail!" skill that basic logic dictates it should have but for some unknown reason the devs decide "Ummmmm, no." to putting it in as favored. One has to wonder if that's so on the asian servers tho.......
Donce02-19-2015
I will add, that for the 1 quest, The meaning of knowing (7*), in the chain for this job you need English language. I burned a lot of QMP's without language skill. And got the quest immediately with the language.
Donce02-27-2015
1st quest in chain requires ENG language skill.
2nd quest in chain requires ARC (Far North) language skill (can be obtained in St. Petersburg)
3rd quest requires ENG
4th quest requires ENG
5th quest requires CHN (chinese) language skill
Donce02-27-2015
Donce02-27-2015
3rd quest in chain is called "A world becoming clearer".
You need ENG language skill for 3rd quest. SWA won't work.
And it has 2 pre-quests:
A bird like an over-fat goose
And new quest from London:
(G.T.) Fruit of the popular poison
r5 eco, r7 bio, SPA

Just as a note here, to pull quest #3 (From London, disc Dodo), if you have already discovered and have hide completed quests on, it will fail to show. Even though it is a new quest and different story, it will count as "completed" in regards to the oxford skill.
Guilder02-28-2015
So it's the same as the Hunter and Cartographer jobs (which also involve rediscovering past discoveries), eh? Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to add Dodo to my list of 'must-lose discovery cards via Treasure Hunting synthesis'.
JoLeNe02-28-2015
You don't need to lose the discovery card, it's a different quest altogether (with event type dialog). I tried (obviously unsuccessfully) to pull this quest with the hide quests thesis on and couldn't do it. Removed the oxford skill and the quest showed up right away. (I still had the Dodo card from previous quests). Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone was running this college skill and burning qmps hehe.
Guilder02-28-2015
Understood. Let's just say it's my preference to lose discovery cards when I'm looking for a specific quest in European capitals like London, with the Oxford skill active that hides previously discovered quests; it cuts down the potential quest pool substantially, and so long as I don't reacquire those lost discovery cards, I can share the job quests/pre-quests with anybody who needs them indefinitely.

I am sorry but after the right to chase legends, you can pull the meaning of knowing. Me and my friend having been working on these quest for awhile, and just about to head to hangzhou, to pull History is better than a novel, when he went to check, for a quest headed that way and and found, the meaning of knowing.
mike03-28-2015
new adventurer quest:
Meaning of knowing
London adventurer guild (7 stars)
1. London - Earl of Sussex x4
2. Baltic Sea North - table boulder near the entrance
Battousai04-07-2015
This is important: The oxford skill "Hide Completed Quests" blocks the Dodo Quest from London.
Remove it before trying to getting it.
mike04-13-2015
Meeting a legend
london - talk to professor at oxford
st pete - talk to young girl by adventure guild
st pete - talk to adventure adventure GM
baltic sea north - click on upturned boulder
baltic sea north - use observe in middle of map

The promised future
My friend seems to be stuck in the last bit of info in this quest. He read archaeology three times in Hangzhou archives, but then he's supposed to find that Tradescant special NPC to talk to before going to discover. He seems unable to. Did anybody have any issues there? Or does anybody remember where in Hangzhou this guy is waiting? I understand you also find him in London earlier and in Hangzhou harbour too, but I'm asking about the very last time you need to talk to him.
Warbride04-21-2015
Go to Yellow River Downstream and click on Pointed Boulder in the west. You get to Xanadu and talk to Tradescant there. Then, Observe/Recognition to complete the quest
V_I04-28-2015
Fruit of the popular poison's actual quest name is: A popular poisonous berry
BIakeC04-04-2016
Cost is 40 mil to change into without job card. If you've previously gotten this job before and want to get the card again, the quest to it is called "Investigating unknown lands" from London. Your need R13 Rec, R15 Arch, and Chinese language.
- Speak to Adventuer GM in London
- Read Arch book at the archives in Hangzhou 3 times (requires Chinese language)
- Use Rec skill at entrance in Xanadu
This is a hard quest to pull however (I burned 30 QMPs even with having the language and meeting the requirements) so it's up to you if it's worth using that many QMPs or flat out pay the 40 mil.
Guilder05-14-2016
About a year or so's worth of updates from now, Age of Revolution's first chapter will be released. With it, Navigation, along with Management and Arms, can be leveled to R15. New ship skills with R10+ required Arms/Navi/Management will also be added to the game. So this job, and its trade/maritime counterparts, will become very important in the near future.
CABlakeC02-05-2019
There's a fleet that has the potential to drop the job card for this profession using the
Letter of Appreciation from Seafarers. It's a Portuguese NPC fleet called "Juan de Gallai" (the name is G.T. from the Japanese wiki, actual name may vary on Maris). He's usually seen sailing between Lisbon and Casablanca, and sometimes around Porto. This is something to look into if you dont have the skills, or dont wish to go through the infamous Xanadu chain quest to unlock this job.
Donce04-09-2019
NPC named Juan de Gallay (Portuguese NPC Fleet, sailing out from Lisbon) gave me card for this job
