This is better than BTC for adventure and just as good for trading overall. Your BTCs are getting 4/4 which means they will never be the ship you think they are. Unless you're using Delphi. Tea clip starts with higher turn and WR, less studding sails to strip your turn rate and the ability to have a higher WR as well, which equals speed. The BTC is a huge turd that's basically a TLG with an outboard motor on the back. If you want speed go with the LMS or Tea Clipper, if you care about 'omgwtf' cargo space, keep your Brontisoarus Trade Clipper.

Assuming both teaked and 22/25/-1 sails, BTC will have +44v/-23h sails compared to the Tea Clipper. While the Tea Clipper will have much higher turn and WR, the BTC is likely faster on a long trip in a straight line.

i don't think u understand what u talking about , TeaC is much faster than BTC but slightly lower cargo , TC is more like low lvl adv/trade ship while BTC is a fast ship for crafting
Spy.08-30-2013
Tea Clipper is faster than BTC headwinds, tailwinds, and sidewinds.
Its been proven by my friend and I while doing a nanban run.

WTT 4/4 BTC EA/HL (optionals)924 cargo 110/105 +2T +7WR for 5/5 TeaClip 856 cargo with EA+HL as optionals. Both skills as optional is a must, if workshop or aide cabin as original that's fine, I'm deciding between those two skills myself. I'm willing to add money to the deal if the build is good enough.

Also my BTC is teak, the Tea Clip for trade must be teak as well. I just take for granted teak is a standard these days.

I just recently switched to this ship from a BTC (Big Trading Clipper). Yes it does have slightly less cargo space, but when it comes to speed it beats the BTC out of the water. It accelerates much faster, has more turning speed and wave resistance, and overall sails better in any kind of winds.

where do you build tea clippers

As shown (a bit vaguely) up above by the Large Flush Deck Style Hull, this ship can be built in all six starting nation capitals.
