yeah the stats here are correct, 258 crew, but there is also an astro version with 255 crew but its really fast, comes with EA skill. but this ship even with 258 crew is still a great ship, a true hybrid. I think ill still be saving my SSIPs and cash for an astro version though.

hull is drop from Kemal Reis(which is not white one i guess)

I saw Vizier'Aladdin(sp?) in one outside of Seville. Sure looked fast to me! Dunno if he was using speed boosts or not.

Is this the fastest galley in game (non astro)? I really like the idea of 4 studding sails, but 80 row power is worrying. Should I go for this as speed galley or maybe a lower lvl galleass type ship, like Battle Galleass or Heavy Galleass or Venetian Galleass or Neap Galleass?

Most people think of the Light La Mort or Shadow Neapolitan Galleass when thinking of the fastest row ships.

They might be the fastest, but im talking about non astro. I like the sail power of OG and 4 studding sails, but 80 row power and 4 imp slots worry me. Battle Galleass or Venetian Galleass look like good choices because of good sails and 6-7 mod slots

The fastest non astro ships will tend to be the non astro versions of the fastest astro ships. So a LaMort or Neapolitan Galleass will probably be what your looking for.

interesting, after doing the math at base stats and adding 3 x Special Fore top royal sails 'assuming that ship these will be used for battle' it appears the OG is fastest overall with that extra stud and reduced row power.

It certainly has the edge in open deep water being heavy Horz sail as well.

If you add up base sail stats, plus the V/H and Row power with 4 studs (18V/25V/0T x 4) for a total number of 582 (sails and row combined) vs. 539 at 3 studs for NG.

Now Turn should also be considered here but in a straight line, with the OG having 10 more base armour than the NG.. I would be safe to assume that even off-the line and in the quarter mile; the OG will be faster..

Both are awesome ships IMO

I also did this analysis with the NC LM and it's base stats are even less than the NG to start out with so no need to waste time with that one
