The Great Seafarers
No Expiration
Stockholm Adventurer's Guild
We have received a request from a Folklorist to investigate the travel of the Vikings. I'm sure you know them as warriors and pirates, but they were also the world's greatest explorers. If you buy the Seafarer at the Tavern a drink, he will tell you more about them.

1. Able Navigator
So you're researching the voyaging skills on the Vikings, are you?
I'm sure you know that they traveled from Scandinavia to Britain, from Ireland to Northern France. They're ships had oars and square sails, allowing them to sail any distance, long or short.

2. To Read the Seas
Not only were their ships amazing, but so was their ability to read the seas. It would make veteran navigators in these times turn green with envy. There memorized their charts and had their own compasses. At need, they used the flights of birds to know where land was located. They traveled at one with nature.

3. To Vinland
I have heard something else as well. According to Viking lore, they sailed west of Ireland, passed the islands thought to be World's End and eventually reached a land of plenty that they called Vinland. Now, if that's the place everyone calls the new continent, then that means the Vikings reached there many, many years before Admiral Colon did.

4. A Green Town for Vikings
Well, who can say what's true or not in the old folklore. For me it's just one of those tales I picked up over a drink. If you want to know more, go to Bergen. There are descendants of the Vikings in that town, as well as one who tells the old stories. Part of what I told you just now, I learned in Bergen myself.

5. Meeting the Storyteller
Stories of the Viking travels to Vinland are compiled in the Icelandic Saga. For a long time, the Sagas were passed on by word of mouth, so the sagas seem to change depending on where they are told. If you want to hear the story for yourself, go and look for a young girl named Olga. She lives at the landing point to the north.

6. Stories of a Hero
So you have come all this way just to hear the Saga? I told the barkeep I didn't want to talk about my ancestors again. I wish he'd listen. Well, I'm sorry but you've come up here for nothing. I don't tell the stories anymore. A man who commits a crime and then flees to another land is not a hero. And I won't talk of him again.

7. Of No Use
Ha ha ha. You are a strange one, aren't you? You truly want to know about that false hero? Then you may take this book and read it yourself. I no longer have any use for it.

8. Travels of the Vikings
The young storyteller that the Bergen barkeep referred us to has lost her faith in the stories and seems withdrawn. We settled for looking through the book she showed us.

I already discover Rollo Helm, why this quest is not appear? Is this quest have another prequest?
ReaD12-30-2012
viking quest is never that easy to pull out...
Donce01-28-2013
Rollo Helm quest is 2nd in this quest chain, so after I discovered Rollo Helm I tried to get this quest because I was so sure that the first quest in chain, Vikings, was already done. I used about 50 QMP a couple of months ago - of course with no success. So I abandoned this Vinland quest for a while, until last week. I came to Stockholm once more and burned about 100 QMP's - no success again. On the other web site I've read that there are two different quests in London maritime guild with the same name Vikings so I came back to London, made the right Vikings quest and went to Stockholm. I used only 2 or 3 QMP and got this quest :)
Hope this will help someone to save their time and QMP :)

@ Donce. My QMP stack and I thank you sir! I burnt through 20 or so with no success. Read your comment. Went back to London, complete the Maritime Viking quest (again and/or "the other"), came back to Stockholm, and got this quest with 4 QMPs.

Damn this was one hard quest to pull. Made sure I did the correct Vikings pre quest and discovered the Helmet of Rollo. But it took me four separate visits to Stockholm and almost 100 qmp's before this quest popped. Better luck to the rest of you.

Just to confirm, if you have done the vikings maritime quest from London, and it was to sink a fleet of ships, that's the WRONG one.

can you pull this quest again if you have already done it?
Snipe10-19-2014
TH "legendary Lady Pirate" rank r15 clue gives this
Curious02-12-2015
Ok, I'm a little confused. How is it possible to do the Rollo's quest before you do the first quest in the chain?
Guilder02-12-2015
Notice the numbers on the quest chain scrolls. Both Rollo's Helm and Vikings are listed as #1; this means they have no prerequisites (other than fame) to generate. Once you've done both of them, the entire Viking quest chain becomes available to you. (And for what it's worth, I did the Rollo's Helm quest well before Vikings.)
Nekos03-18-2015
Olga is at the lone cedar next to the entrance
Wsp02-10-2017
There are actually 3 prequests for this. The two mentioned above for rollo helmet and viking quest and a 3rd called The Bond also from London maritime guild, the one that brings you to Oslo. Blew a lot of QMPs until I double checked with Japanese wiki on this.
BluesBlood02-10-2017
WSP is wrong, if you go to see in: Record-> Discovery-> Treasure -> "Saga of Erik the Red", and watch the previous quest, just find the two listed in the chain, no other. So named by the WSP is not necessary.
Wsp02-10-2017
I can't find my reference anymore, so I suppose I am not right.
Burdok01-23-2018
This is the 3rd quest in the "Legendary Lady Pirate " Treasure hunt, but I had a problem starting it as the 1st quest in the series was in fact the incorrect "Vikings" quest as mentioned in above comments. I completed the Vikings quest from London maritime guild that sends you to the city official in Nantes and afterwards I could start this quest.
