you mad they can build this? i think we will be able to once that ship ornament is released, probably in TB
HellFury04-28-2016
is it still "Japanese Server only" ?
BIakeC04-28-2016
Yes, and at this point, it's pretty unlikely we'll ever see this in GAMA server. I think we would have gotten this long time if this was ever intended to be released here...

Its not the hull thats not available. You need the Sha-chuan ornament to build the hull. Highly doubtful youd see this on Gama. They rather you buy bottles and try to fish the nc versions.
Or you all can stop spending money on Astros and a deadgame, let the game finally die, then Koei will reopen again with Netmarble and a fresh server.
Ogp is who is holding us back. GM Saulcaine the nazi

KOEI has the final say in all matters. NetMarble and OGP were/are little more than chauffeurs; they had/have a bit of authority, but not nearly so much as you suppose. The idea that a company would invest time and money into resurrecting a server from scratch after it failed them once before, is also entirely unrealistic -- KOEI is far more likely to say, 'Well, we gave it a go, but experiment over; no more International servers that are free-to-play'.
There is also the fact that a complete reset would alienate a ton of players, veteran or otherwise; I personally would be heartbroken to see all my work gone in the blink of an eye, and I doubt very much too many of us would stick around to help the 'new generation', likely dooming this supposed 'fresh start server' to digital oblivion as well.
Am I disappointed in some of the choices made by the powers that be, and that certain things are not available in UWO? Sure. But I remain grateful to have a game available to play at all. UWO is incredibly niche; I never thought it would make it out of the East Asian gaming sphere. Oh, and for a supposedly 'dead' game, I notice that today's maintenance is coinciding with the announcement for the next expansion. Which happens to be Atlantis, if I'm not very much mistaken.
Now. I am not against a civil discussion of these and other points, but I would suggest that UWODB is not the place for them. This database is meant to collect game information and strategies. I'd rather things like 'our hosting service stinks / this player's bad / dead game even though players can suggest and organize their own events (never saw that with NM) / etc.' be spoken of elsewhere. It's not what people come here to see. Thanks for your consideration.
Cheers, and good voyaging online to you.

They have been begging for this hull for years, literally. You will NEVER see it. Gama is the handicapped, retard server. Better grind your self up to sail the Flying Cloud of Gran Fluyt if you want cargo.
Gama has had the training wheels on forever and they will remain so. If you want anything good, be prepared to pay real cash for it. Gama is truly a P2W these days as OGP is extremely desperate for cash to keep the servers going, as the rest of their games have already died. OGP as a company, cant manage their own business nonetheless an extensive game in desperate need of change ASAP, before its to late.
It would be great to "reset" the server. The game is beyond dead and not salvagable. The exit rate far exceeds the new players. Its a few bored loser veterans that are in denial the game is dead. People with a true MMO addiction that need to login to their toon to actually feel some "accomplishments" in life. It would be great for OGP to stop receiving astro money and be forced to close the game. The rights then would go back to KOEI to sell the GAMA server rights to another party whom is actually capable of handling the game. Most likely Netmarble would be the ones to learn from their previous mistakes. It has been 2 years+ and OGP has done nothing at all to turn the server around or grow population. Its a sad joke if you think the game is bounding back. Enjoy the ride to a slow death. Only fools would spend real money on a dead game. Horrible investment IMO.

I do believe I smell the distinct odor of flame bait, with a hint of troll... well, since there's no reasoning with those looking to cause trouble for their own amusement, I suppose it's time to avoid the front page for a few days, until the heat dies down. Wherever are those Purification Fleets when you need them?
Curious04-29-2016
KOEI has always had the rights to the game. OGP make ANY changes without consulting KOEI first. You two should be blaming KOEI if you have a problem with how the game is being run. And if you are really passionate about it, go play on the Japanese server.
whitesauce04-29-2016
I am really passionate and would love to play on the Japanese server. Im sure a large majority of the Gama server would migrate if we could. Atleast it is ACTIVE!!
The only question is how to do so without a Japan based IP address??
Curious04-29-2016
There are ways to do so, first thing that comes to my mind is VPN...

I did know someone that moved to the Taiwanese Server. He had to get someone over there to make an account for him and use their info to log in (phone number has to match the dial code for Taiwan, etc). I'm not sure how he handled making payments since it's P2P server, among other issues, but I heard back it ended being a lot more work then he expected. Language barriers can also be an issue since they will only address you in their native tongue (Korean, Mandarin, etc) and im sure they wont take too kindly having an "outsider" play on their server if they found out.
That being said, I would hardly call UWO on GAMA P2W. There are many so called P2W games out there that come to a slowing crawl or halt unless you fork out money that can go up to the hundreds (and sometimes thousands) if your not careful. Up until fairly recently, I bought very NM currency, and later astros, save for the occasional SSIP and NPCs, and I did just fine. Those items from the astros shop, can make the game a little bit easier, but their not overall needed.
However I do wish that OGplanet could do a better job on handling UWO. For starters, they need to make the sailors bottle drop more useful stuff more often, and have the astros ships drop at a bit better rate as well. This would not only encourage players to buy the sailors bottle more often, but it would make ships and premium equipment cheaper so players that cant (or wont) buy from sailors bottle can purchase these equipment without having to go to the poor house.

Google gamecity jp if you're interested in playing on the Japanese server. I didn't spend a lot of time there but I was never banned with a US IP. Unless things have changed you can sign up for a 1 week free trial and have a look around.
@BlakeC You might be interested in the psychology involved in designing these "f2p" lottery systems. OGP makes more money when they offer less. It's in their interest to keep drops extremely rare and exclusive. If they didn't power users would get what they want relatively quickly and stop spending. Keep rates low and the sky is the limit as to what you can siphon out of certain people. If you're spending 20 - 30 USD every month on GAMA you aren't even a blip on their radar, they're hunting whales and won't change anything as long as 1% of players are willing to spend a few hundred USD every couple weeks on their lottery bottles.

@El_Dorito Ive seen several players on chat and a few Ive talked to personally saying they have longed stopped playing the bottle, not just because of RL financial situations but because of the lack of good rewards, and I do agree with them; the last few times I tried playing sailors bottle, I spent $50 each time and winning nothing of interest. Even NMs old treasure box had somewhat better chances. This will just discourage any newcomers to trying out the bottle themselves. It's just not good business to keep the odds so incredibly low.
