      A strange collection of poems
      No Expiration
      Istanbul Adventurer's Guild
This is a request from a literary person. He wants to find a strange anthology which is apparently in Persia. You should learn Persian.
The client says he heard it from a storekeeper at the market, so go and ask for details at the market.

                    Something a shop keeper heard
I also heard it from a customer, but the name of the author was definitely Omar Khayyam. The collection of poems was filled with odd things and yet it left an impression.
Je usually in Trebizon, so go there and ask the details.

                    Omar Khayyam
Hmm? A collection of poems? I talked to a Market Keeper about it. Khayyam was apparently famous as a Scholar, but he wasn't well known as a poet, so the poem collection wasn't widely known. That and the poems were all about extolling the virtues of alcohol.

                    Content of a poem collection
"Drink booze, don't be sad, a wise man told me to be down is poison, booze is a medicine that will cure that" and that kind of junk. What a weird guy.
What, you actually have anm interest in that? That Scholar showed the poem collection to me.

                    " The meaning of ""Rubaiyat""
Ahh, that poem collection is called "Rubaiyat". It is the plural of the Persian word "rubaii", meaning four line poems or quatrains, and is a collection of quatrains. What? You want the Rubaiyat?. Since it's written en Persian, you can't read it...

                    Poems in Persian
                    Wow,so apparently you understand Persian.
If that's the case, I will give it to you.Since what is written in there differs greatly from the religious teachings that we believe in, I can't recommend it but... It's in that rest area over there, so if you're interested, please go and take it.

It's a collection of poems that Muslims, who are prohibited from drinking alcohol, don't like much. That is it treated as a strange thing is a given.
Anyway, I'll go to the rest area and "Search" for it.

A collection of quatrains written by Omar Khayyam.
In Persian, it means 'quatrain.' It continues to sing hymns in praise of fine wine and wine maidens, advocating for an ephemeral hedonism.

You will need the Persian language or Indian Ocean translation notes to finish this quest.

The relevant translation note is not sold in Istanbul, btw.

If you find yourself without Persian and have the Suez permit you can take the canal and buy Indian Ocean translation notes in Aden. The other option is to learn the language on the east coast of Africa (Zanzibar or Mozambique).

Having an aide with Persian works pretty nice too. It can even be a fleetmate's aide!
