This historical event of the 15th Century (2nd period) is one of the few adventure-type events. To participate, you have to register for the ship race and sail from Lisbon to The Azores.... in a light/small-class ship. About 20 times.

Yep. Have fun with that one. Noteworthy rewards for racing enough times:

Wanderer of the Ages Hat / Pioneer of History - (unlocked at the same time; title must be picked up from a certain NPC)
Traveler's Treasure Box - final reward

sad and miserable, in order to play I have to search the internet! spend a few hours to find out about something, no wonder the game is failing and there are fewer and fewer players! sorry bad ,bad !!!

Event cutscenes actually explain how to play, but people tend to skip them and miss the instructions. Additionally, instructions are shown in blue text when you log in for the first time during a new day -- in this case, to register at a port official during a certain period.

As it turned out, it glitched because we already had a ship race that was going on (or rather, was about to end). I guess the game couldn't handle having two going on at the same time, so that's why it bugged out. I already sent a report to the GM, though I'm not sure what he can do or even if we can compensated for the loss. Stay tuned...

You get the usual race participation tickets and then at various increments also:

3x Headache Medication
3x Silver Tarot
3x Expedition Ship Change Destination Ticket
3x Shipwreck Map Piece
1x Improved Gallant Staysail

Then the hat Guilder linked and finally the Treasure Box. So really it is a lot of racing for the final two rewards in particular.

It only takes 20-25 total races to get the final reward. We should be thankful, because on the Japanese server, they have to do it over 50 times to get it!
