What does this skill actually do? Why is it good?

Natascha
01-12-2012
It raises the rate of Rare Item Drop from NPCs such as Mode design recipes

Beatrice

one aide with ambush (lookout duty) and one aide with seize cargo (lieutenant duty) for sure to maximize your chance to plunder rare things

Ok, this skill just seems to cause disorder on some of the enemy ships. How does that help with rare plunder? It makes them die faster, which gives you less time to use seize cargo. I don't get it...

Ambush when succesfull, does a x3 times better to plunder rare items, one of the effects is to create disorder, but multiplies the effect for getting the item desired

Wait so you need this to plunder items? it says launch surprise sea attack against the NPC. where's the part it say plunders against NPC? if this is the case then plunder is a usesless skill?

Erda
06-09-2012
no, you only need ambush
and no need to have plunder, it's useless
(ok enough of sarcasm i've seen too many idiots here, the amount is just too damn high!)

This skill increases your chance to plunder a rare book. end of discuission.

Wow rude, and i was been serious why say a skill that says ambush is needed to plunder maybe ambush and plunder mean the same in your language but they mean something different in mine(now that's sarcasm) now go to the top of the page and read the description again!! then you maybe able to answer my question without been yes one of the idiots

think about when you have sex with whore and police launching "surprise attack" while you're doing "oh yes oh no ah ah" :))
you'll suprised and not be able to put your clothes on and run away so police can take your clothes (and even wallet, watch, etc) easily while you're run naked from them :))

simple way to put it, but as you said surprise attack is the(enter battle)or(we are here mwahaha):) where's the plunder come into this from this skill? that is my question. how does this plunder you need to melee to cause plunder so this skill has nothing to do with plundering

plunder - allows you to 'Plunder' trade goods , supplies, money and rare items.
Cargo Seize - aide skill - greatly increases your chances of plunder rare items
Ambush - is a surprise attack causing 'disorder' increasing your chances of: a, winning. b, plundering rare items

How rude. Which skills are useful, then?

@Holfina: You clearly don't know what you are talking about ... this skill is awesome (with 100 traits) & seize cargo on another aide ... learn to use this skill first :)

Raise chances to get rare huh .............. so you can only bring 2 aides to the battles and there's 3 skills that i know of raises chance of plunder from aide (so far) plunder itself , cargo seize and ambush , which 2 combination is best ?
Wystein05-19-2016
Seize Cargo and Ambush. Remember that plunder is not an aide skill as such. It is a +1 bonus to your plunder rank.
liuyifei05-19-2016
i know plunder isn't aide skill but isn't adding +1 to my plunder rank also adding the chances ?
but still seize cargo and ambush better huh ?
Yaknow05-19-2016
seize cargo fires off often, giving you mulitple opportunities to plunder an individual ship, not just when you defeat them. Ambush makes each plunder attempt more likely to be a 'rare' drop instead of the common drop.
Either one of these skills by themselves are more desirable than a simple +1 to plunder, put them together and it's magic.
liuyifei05-19-2016
ic thx for the insight

what about when fleeted? Player a ambushes fleet, and player b is close enough to engage the disordered ship, so does, with a seize cargo aide. Does player b still have the same increased chance to get a rare?
V_I09-04-2016
I'm far from a plundering expert, and hopefully one can comment soon, but doesn't it make sense that the disorder status effect, as long as it's active, would give anybody attacking that disordered ship an increased chance for rare plundering? I have trouble thinking the game engine would be so picky about the person who triggered it also being the only one who would get an increased chance, over anyone in their fleet.
Fanta09-04-2016
Personally i've used this often and did not see any changes
Bael09-05-2016
Sincerely this skill is bad for plunder, if you start melee with them in desorder they will die faster, something you're trying to avoid and if in fact is of any help, it will be too little to sacrifice that ship. Just my opinion.
Wsp01-24-2017
I also don't see the benefit of this skill for 'rare item plunder'. Good ole seize cargo and refined plunder are all you need.
Aguirre05-31-2018
I am looking to add another aid and, as an avid plunderer, this skill is intriguing. The issue I am having is that the aide must be in the lookout duty to use the skill and, if successful, will continue to be in when battle starts. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of aide skills that are useful in combat that also require lookout, which essentially makes these aides a "one-trick-pony." Natascha has evasion, which would be helpful but requires levels 35 and 36, respectively, meaning a long grind to get them. Just wondering what other folks' experiences are? Is the skill worth it? Is there a better aide? Am I overlooking something? Thanks.

Io and George are a good combination for a plunder build.
