      Silkworms and Can Cong
      No Expiration
      Calicut Adventurer's Guild
You're the one who delivered the report on silkworms, aye? While researching silk farming, a certain trade merchant stumbled on the name, "Can Cong". But he's still short on documentation. He's looking for someone who could help with the investigation on location. You interested? I know they practice silk farming in Yuntaisha.

            God of Silk Farming
Can Cong is revered as the father of sericulture and the god of raising silkworms. There are more than a few examples of highly revered people being treated as gods. He is frequently celebrated in places that raise silkworms. I also heard that he was the King of a country called Shu. I believe it was from the studious young man in town here.

            State of Shu
Can Cong was a character mentioned in a book called the Record of the Imperial Shu. This does not refer to the Shu of the Three Kingdoms time, but to one much much earlier in time. It is occasionally called Old Shu to differentiate it. It is said that Can Cong is the one who established Old Shu.

            The King's Interest in Sericulture
By his work with silkworms, Can Cong was able to bring prosperity to Old Shu. He always wore a blue robe and so is occasionally referred to as Qingyishen, or Blue Robed God. Other than that... Oh, that's right. Go visit the city official of Chongqing. You may still able to see a relic relating to Can Cong.

            Vertical eyed Can Cong
Just the other day, we found a mask with the vertical eyes said to have been characteristic of Can Cong. In most records concering him, he is said to have had vertical eyes. Up to now, it was hard to envision what was meant by that.

            Can Cong and the Mask
Recently the masks being found all have the eyes protruding. In addition, there have been masks with strong lifted eyes. It has been speculated by scholars that they were based on Can Cong. They are very valuable so be very careful while looking at them.

            The Mask of Can Cong
There are many legends concerning Can Cong, including that he is the god of sericulture and the first emperor of Old Shu. He also had what they are calling vertical eyes. They have found a number of masks that appear to be based on him, and they are stored in a mansion here in town. I need to view these masks myself so I can make a proper report.
