Surveying India and to the East
                No Expiration
                Calicut Imperial Contract
I am hesitant to admit this, but we do not know enough of the countries to the east of India. At this rate the foray of our country into the Spice Islands will end up no different from that of a sailor with no chart of the sea... Thus, we want to entrust you to survey the state of affairs in these countries for us. The information you discover for us shall light the way to a brighter future for us all!

[IMG:Quest_Guide] [ZONE:90005566] Consul [ZONE:90005593] City Official [ZONE:90005593] Barkeep [ZONE:90005591] Market Keeper [ZONE:90005591] Barkeep [ZONE:90001077] Diagonal Boulder [IMG:01] Channels for information collection Just telling you to investigate probably doesn't give you much of a clue as to what to do, huh? First collect you should collect information at Ceylon, and the Pondicherry. The information gathered by investigators we sent earlier should have arrived at the diagonal crag on the southwest coast of Sumatra. I want you get that too. Return here as soon as possible. Old informations is next to worthless. [IMG:01] Spice route We Indian merchants have been trading with this land for a long time. We send the valuable spices only found here to Europe via the Persians. When it reaches the Europeans it must be extremely expensive. Its as cheap as dirt here. Haha! [IMG:01] Trading ship that does not return There's a reason spices are so expensive. The ships sailing east from here in India or Persia are full of valuable goods. These ships are preyed on by pirates. You can get rich quick with spices, but it's a dangerous trade. [IMG:01] Sultanate of Malacca and the Ayutthana dynasty In that area you should pay attention to the Kingdom of Malacca, situated on the southern area of the Malay peninsula, and the Ayutthaya dynasty in eastern Pegu. Both countries are developing quickly as trading posts for the Orient trade. However, the islands are scattered with smaller kingdoms. There should still be room for trade to be set up. [IMG:01] Aged great power Did you know the kingdom of Majapahit did not cover just Java, but stretched as far as Sumatra? However, since the trading hub has shifted to Malacca, it has declined rapidly. I expect there'll be troubles over the hegemony of Java soon. [IMG:04] Report from the surveyors Due to the spread of Islam in the countries to the east of India in recent years, one would think it has become harder for us to trade. However, before Islam there was Hinduism and Buddhism. There's also rumours that Christianity has penetrated the northern Spice Islands too. [IMG:06] Surveying India and to the east One can buy spices for incredibly cheap prices in the islands to the east of India. Some of these countries have seen rapid development due to the influx of merchants. On the other hand, some countries like Majapahit are suffering. I should report this information to the consul.

Just finished this today.. Not really clear hints from the Quest.
But confirmed on above steps. After speaking with Barkeep in Pondicherry, just head straight to the Diagonal Boulder in Southwest Sumatra landing point

I see, so need to buy jibs from goa just like George said.

Eh? You only need flying inner jibs from Goa when you're doing the Calicut IQ "Shortening the survey period". This one right here just has you go places and talk-talk-talk-click-on-a-boulder, like the guide directions say. George's advice is right, but kinda in the wrong place...
