Definitely a Bat
I did too see it! Its jump...Its speed---That had to have been a bat! But---I've never heard of a bat with a golden glow before. If it really is a bat, it's gonna be a great discovery, don't you think? I can brag about it to the scholar!

Good Luck
The most well known bat is a simple black color all over. That's why it has a less than good reputation. However, the bat that the seafarer saw was red with black overtones. He was very lucky to have seen it. It is extremely rare.

Adjusting the Light
Still, I believe we do have reports of other sightings. And we have been able to gather a bit of information. They say that it's red color appears to glow gold when hit with light in the dark. If you look very carefully at the landing to the north, you may be able to find it.

Golden Bat
The golden bat looks that way due to the light. I need to confirm this at the landing north of here.
