Exterminating the Monster
It was when I was travelling northwest of Sakai. I approached a stream to quench my thirst and saw a large something wriggling through the water. Half of its body tore open into a mouth and it rushed right at me.
It was a monster I'm telling you! Can't you check out the archives for a way to get rid of it?

The Identity of the Monster
Occasionally large animals appear in streams. With a large mouth, flat head, fat body, small limbs and a developed tail, it really seems more related to a newt than a fish. It can grow to the size of a small child. It is agile in the water when catching prey, but it can also be seen walking slowly in the shallows from time to time.

Large Creature that Lives in the Stream
The monster found in the stream is likely related to new newt, according to what I read in the archives. It doesn't seem to be as dangerous as I was told. But you can never tbe to sure, so I must take care when looking for it. It was seen near the stacked boulders. I should be able to land northeast of Nagasaki.

  A fat, lizard-like creature that primarily lives upstream in the rivers of western Japan. Some grow over 1m long.
  It moves slowly on land, but is quite the adroit swimmer.
