Large bay in western Gia Dinh

      Jakarta Adventurer's Guild
I have a job I want to ask of you. It's a request from a Guild that wants to investigate the geography around Gia Dinh. Gia Dinh is important to the trade of many norhtern countries, so please investigate thoroughly. First, go there to gather information.

                1. Land that sinks during the monsoon
The entire region south of here is a wetland. The Mekong River is nearby, and its water level rises in the rain season, so the lower reaches flood during that time. That's probably why the trees along the coast can withstand seawater.

                2. Pivotal point for east-west trading
The area around here is a cornerstone of a trade between the East and the West. Even in ancient times, back when Greece was still in its golden age, you could get goods from there! The Malay Peninsula to the west has a very narrow strait. The biggest reason is that going through that strait is a faster way to getting to India than going around the peninsula.

                3. Land may sink but it does not lose its worth
The peninsula south of Giah Dinh is a vast wetland. The Mekong River rises during the rainy season, and the lands there flood. However, this does not change the fact that the area is a cornerstone of trade. I should investigate the peninsula south of Giah Dinh and report back.

The giant bay spreading east of Gia Dinh, also called the Gulf of Siam. The waters are shallow and it has a low salt content because of the large rivers that flow into it. There is a mangrove forest along the shore, making this a great fishing ground.
