No Expiration
Jakarta Adventurer's Guild
I have a confidential request for you. I'd like you to find the locating of an island in the Pacific Ocean. Such small islands in the Pacific will be essential for resupplying for sea routes leading to the New World from here. He who finds the location of this small island is sure to earn untold riches! First go to Manila to ask around.

Recognition 1. The only way to work out its position
Hmm, you want to investigate the islands in the east sea? More than that, it's hard enough to even identify the positioning of the islands there amongst so much ocean like that. It's like looking for one particular grain of sand in a whole sandy beach. I guess you also know firsthand, right? Well... I'm not saying there's no way to do it. It's just...
2. Unique currents
From what I've heard, it seems there are unique exchanges talking place between the islands dotting the east sea. Like there's a group of islands said to be in the east sea and an island to the far off northeast that's 20 sailing day away. And even a speedy ship sailing through the night would apparently need ten days to arrive...
3. Surprisingly strong grasp
But on the island to the northeast, they supposedly use stone money. And the type of stone they use can only be found on those east islands. So, believe it or not, the people then row by hand to acquire it. If you were able to ask those islanders to guide you, you could probably learn the positioning of the islands. But just where those eastern islands are...
4. Goods that washed ashore
Come to think of it, a Merchant who comes by my place got drawn eastward once and drifted ashore on those east islands. If you talk to him, you might be able to get an idea where those islands are. He's now in Davao, so why don't you visit him?
5. A very limited resupply
The islands to the east? Not like I know their exact coordinates. But what were they like? Well, then... I wouldn't say they were especially advanced. And they barely gave us enough food and water so that we could make it back to Davao. If you want to investigate a place like that, you must be a real curious sort then.
6. Beyond the Pacific Ocean
There's a rumour Sailors in this area are talking about a lot recently. They're saying El Dorado exists past the sea to the east. Let me guess, your plan is to research a sea route that'll take you there? It's only called El Dorado, which means the City of Gold, because no one has found it. If it was discovered, it would given a proper name. Isn't that right, my Sailor friend?
7. Sailor from the city of gold
Ho! Ho! You might be right! But whatever the Bartender says... we Sailors aren't so sure that El Dorado is just a story. And the fact that an explorer by the name of Magellan visited these parts is proof in itself...
8. Value of spices from the Pacific Ocean
Magellan supposedly came here to buy spices. With that in mind, there are three possible conclusions. Either the story of El Dorado is a fake, all the gold was already taken away or these spices are even more precious than gold. However you look at it, there's no denying that these spices have an incredible value!
9. True east from Davao
Rumour has it that the islands that Merchant washed up on are due east from here. So you might want to start your investigating from this island. Oh... so I just gave you some information. For that, how about letting me in on things, too? Whoever gains exclusive use of a route crossing the east sea will make an absolute fortune! Well, until next time!
10. First step to crossing plan
It seems there aren't so many islands in the Pacific Ocean. If someone could discover their location and build a supply port there, a sea route that would give birth to tremendous riches could be established linking the New World and the Spice Islands. You didn't expect the Sailor in Davao to know of your plans, but first you have to survey the islands to the east.

A group of islands located east of the island of Mindanao. Since it is made up of very tiny islands it is not suitable for agriculture. The island people have learned the position of these islands and there is a frequent exchange of resources between the different islands.
