Unfortunately, I have some sad news. The plan to search for a cross-Pacific route which I had asked of you may have suffered a setback. I sent a team to the Palau islands which you discovered to look for a new supply port candidate, but they have had no luck. We might be forced to change the route. But there is one hope remaining... I'll explain in detail..

                              1. Shipping lane to the east of New Guinea
This sea route heads to the east from the island of New Guinea. According to information gathered by the Port Official in Dili we have determined that there are several small islands to the east of the Island of New Guinea. We need to work on developing this sea route. Head over to Dili as soon as you can. By the way, we're keeping this plan a secret from the Port Official, so be careful.

                              2. Only a little information
Yes, I did report that information to the Guild, but... Why would... Never mind, I shouldn't implore any further. Anyway, we received this information from Run. If you go there and ask around yourself perhaps you can find out some more details.

                              3. Origin of the rumours
Oh, that story? Everyone knows where that started. That sailor over there is part of it so why don't you ask him? You might be pretty shocked by what you hear...

                              4. How to excite a sailor
How far did you make it? Ah, I see... Well sorry but that doesn't have anything to do with this. But I can tell you're an experienced sailor. If I tell you this I bet it'll really get your blood pumping! So what so you say? Wanna hear it?

                              5. Test of skill
All right then, listen up! What is it that determines our value as a sailor? Technique, knowledge, luck... Heck, there's a lot of things. But don't you think the quickest way to figure that out is the question, "How far can you make it?"? That's why we're competing to see how far we can make it across the sea to the east.

                              6. East-south-east from New Guinea
The first thing we require of any sailor that wants to participate in this competition is to sail over to the group of islands just east south-east of the Island of New Guinea. They're all small islands but they're all very mountainous. You'll need to find out which of those islands has the tallest mountain to use as proof that you made it there. So... are you in?

                              7. Ring of islands to the east-south-east
There is a ring of small islands to the east south-east of the Island of New Guinea, all of which are mountainous.
I may have gotten caught up in this competition between sailors in Run but my main goal is developing the sea route. I need to carefully survey the islands and report my findings back to the Guild.

An island chain located far to the east northeast of Australia, and north northeast of New Caledonia. Half of the islands are volcanic. The islands are mountainous and the highest peak is Mount Tabwemasana on the island Espiritu Santo. Each island has developed its own unique culture.
