After one gets access to the Sahara what is required before one can map it?

Chart a total of 70 land regions, as well as complete the charting of West Candia/Inland Crete, West Siberian Plain (unlocked at 20 land regions charted), and Caucasus (40 land regions charted) landing points. A story sequence is affiliated with each area.

When you have met these conditions, the Sahara and Zambezi River Midstream become available to chart after speaking to the Professor at Oxford. Once you've completed charting of both Sahara and Zambezi, a special reward becomes available as a reward at Oxford.
