      No.5706

      Edit
      Arena of the Ancient Ruins
      No Expiration
      Marseille Adventurer's Guild
We've received a request from a Youth to investigate Ancient Rome. If you've been there you know there are many ruins in Rome. The Youth wants to gather information on when they were built and for what purpose. You can start by asking the scholar here in town.

                  3. Rome Observe and Recognition in front of the Coliseum.

                  1. Exhibits on Display
The town is full of remains of ancient Rome. I even hear that lately they have begun to put some of those ancient buildings on display. If you are confident in your own ability, why don't you go ahead and join them? Sorry, that's not what you were asking about, was it? My suggestion for you us that you go to Rome. There is a Scholar there that might be able to help you.

                  2. Submerged in the Ruins
Oh! We meet again! Are you investigating something here, too? This is the greates town! The town itself is one big ruin full of wondrous artifacts and architecture! It just goes to show how high the level of technology was in ancient Rome. Wouldn't you agree?

                  3. The Large Round Building
For example, look over there at that large structure! It's made from volcanic ash and marble. But it looks like a part of it has been cut away and used for other buildings. According to existing records, construction was started in the Flavian Dynasty, but wasn't used until the time of the 2nd Emperor.

                  4. Purpose
What was it for? If you've done some research into Rome, you should be able to guess. In these walls, many fighters fought and died. But to the citizens of Rome, it was entertainment. And it is likely that some of the fighters floried in it as well.

                  5. The Warrior's Stage
I have heard that even some of those who left, couldn't forget the roar of the crowd and returned. And this is not the only structure built for that purpose. BUT, i believe this is the largest of them. All right! Why don't you look around and see what you can find.

                  6. Changes in the Arena
The huge structure with the missing part is the ancient Arena. What once lured many warriors to their death is ow slowly becoming a place to test your skills. You can use Recognition to verify this.

A circular arena built during the time of the Roman Empire. It is said to have held over 40,000 people and hosted numerous events and fights. It is thought that its name came from its proximity to the huge statue of Nero, called the Colossus.

thanks for reply Guilder, though your answer has thrown a spanner in the works,my friend wants the ornament but has dropped hundreds of qmp trying pull this quest without success =( he has 14.8k fame- i thought he might need about 20k...

                      again thanks for the reply

Hmm. Well, as long as your friend's done both pre-quests, it ought to appear. Marseilles being a capital city means there's usually a lot of extraneous quests which generate, which can make it hard to get the one you want (unless you've got the "Hide Completed Quests" skill, but that takes some work to achieve). That said, the JP wiki is not necessarily infallible... I wonder. Tried a few other sites, but none of them had fame req listed.

I suppose one other solution would be to have someone who has done the quest make the ornament for your friend. They could even team up and discover/rediscover the Colosseum at the same time, in theory. Hope it works out for your friend!

I believe Recognition Rank 6 is wrong.

When I was finally able to get the quest to pop up, it says Recognition Rank 4.
