Doubting Colon
No Expiration
London Maritime Guild
There's another job I'd like you to do. Sorry to ask, but could you meet with a Port Official here?
He's not sure if Colon really landed in the Indies by sailing west. Though, he's not doubting the journey, itself.

[IMG:01] Doubting Colon
Nay, I don't know how Admiral Colon came up with a daring plan like that. There must have been people helping him, and documents too. I've heard from severqal sailors that he was very friendly with a man called Toscanelli. Could you go to the Royal castle in Seville and find out more?
[IMG:01] Benefit from the wisdom of predecessors
Toscanelli used Ptolemy's calculations of the size of the globe and The Travels of Marco Polo to make a map. The studious Colon saw that and decided to find the Western Passage. Toscanelli was born in Pisa, so you should go ask at the port office there.
[IMG:01] Next to Lisbon...
Oh yes. Toscanelli was born in a town near here. The round earth caught Colon's eye. Among the letters they exchanged a map was sent from Toscanelli to Colon. The map showed India just west of Lisbon.
[IMG:06] Toscanelli's map
Toscanelli made the map based on different calculations of the size of the Earth. Colon got his hands on this and it set his hopes high for heading West aiming for India.
