      Do you know of the sailor called Zheng He? He came from a land east of far India. According to records, he apparently sailed a ship of enormous size.

                    Records of Zheng He
                    I'm fairly sure there's a record of a Sailor like that coming to this town. But there's nothing about the size of their ship... Wait a minute... There's something interesting written here.

                    Bring back a giraffe
                    The record says, "Took a giraffe with them." If they brought a giraffe home on their ship, then it must have been a pretty big vessel. It says that ship also visited Calicut. Maybe you should check there, too.

                    Seal of a fearsome invader
                    Zheng He? My grandfather told me about the time when he visited this town a long time ago. A great number of men descended from this giant ship. It was like a city came out of the sea. They must have looked like fierce invaders to the children here. Because we've heard that story, it has helped us be better prepared for when other explorers like Vasco da Gama have come here.

                    Zheng He and Gama are too different in scale
                    But when da Gama came here, he had as many as 200 men. It wasn't like the incredible numbers we've heard from the Zheng He story. And da Gama's ship wasn't so big either. Well, if you find some ship parts, then you could determine the size of Zheng He's ship.

                    You want to acquire some ship parts so you can gauge the size of Zheng He's ship? Well, that's quite the conundrum. But, you know, I saw an account in a document saying that Zheng He defeated pirates on the Straits of Macca. Some damaged parts from that encounter might be lying hidden somewhere.

                    Zheng He's ship appears to have been big enough to transport a giraffe. So how big would a ship be if it could carry a whole town's load of people? Maybe you should land on the southwest coast of Sumatra and find out if any parts lie hidden there.

                        A figurehead of a Ming dynasty ship from Zheng He's fleet. According to records, Zheng He's ship was a giant treasure ship, and its grand size was said to be incomparable to the ships used by Admiral Colon and Gama. Just looking at the figurehead alone, that may well be true.
