      Calicut Adventurer's Guild
I have a request from a sailor in Jakarta to study a bird, but the details of this request are quite strange... He wants to find out if birds of different species will become mates.
You won't get anywhere until you meet with him ask for more details. Go to Jakarta!

                  Rare green bird
I appreciate you coming out here. Hope you don't mind if I get right to it. I stopped in at the port in Makassar once and saw this big green bird. It was a very unusual looking creature. It looked to be in the middle of bringing food back to its nest. So I followed it for some reason...

Red bird that waits in the nest
A bird with deep red-coloured feathers was there waiting in its nest. It certainly looked like a different type of bird, but the two of them were acting as a mating pair. I told some of my Sailor friends about it and they wouldn't believe me. They said why don't I mate a pigeon and a chicken together and see what happens. So can you find out what it is I saw there?

What has happened to the reliability of sailors?
I'd certainly say I've never seen a pigeon and a chicken living together so happily. Even a hawk and eagle that look very similar would live separately to one another. You'll have to start by investigating about those birds. It's definitely an interesting tale alright. After you talk to some people about it, tell me what you learned, too.

A combination of just red and green
A red and green bird? You can often see that in the forest. The red bird really stands out. It stays still in the nest, so you can spot it quickly. The green bird keeps busy bringing food back to the nest. Though I've never seen a red one doing that. And, although it's quite strange, there's never pairs with two birds of the same colour.

                  Not another species?
Really... If pairs with two red or green birds aren't seen, then they're probably not two separate kinds of birds. The differences in colours must be determined for some reason. But instead of thinking of this and that, it'd be faster to just check for yourself. There's an area to the northeast where you can land. I think you can spot them by searching there.

                  Investigation of an odd couple
It's likely that the green and red birds seen by the Sailor from Jakarta are the same type of bird. But who knows why their colours are differentiated like that. There's apparently a landing spot in the northeast of Maksassar. You should go there and investigate closely.

This bird's feather colours are completely different between males and females. Males have bright green, females are deep red. They are extremely intelligent, and have a gentle temperament, making them easy to raise.
