I know someone with this job that started at r1 spice trading so i dont think r5 is a pre-requisite.

you can have a player with the reqs get for you, so you dont need the r5

I spent the whole day trying to get maritime guild card quest from London, after several QMP's, port hops and doing normal quests, I couldn't get one for guild card quest to show. Something is badly glitching here.......patches please?

They actually made it easier from a patch several months ago :P
For maritime guild card, you need r1 gunnery for it to appear more common, but I really stress that you should go to naples/genoa/marseilles as the quest in there is more common :)

You dont really need R5 spice trading. I pulled quest with no spice trading at all. Used Po4 to get get the 200 pepper and turned them in did not need spice trading.

For as long as I know, that quest wouldn't show unless u had r5. I'm not calling these peeps liars but just saying that you're probably in a Sambuk and it takes a while to get to Calicut. I would be safe and have a company member pull it for you if you don't have r5...
