its very worth...the great success on making those are a lot "greater" than normal great success, also comes out with a lot more durability, got cannons 14 with like 139 durability

The colony needs to be on metropolis status for the recipe to show up on craftsman NPC, to reach it every player from that nation needs to deliver some itens to shopkeeper NPC and discoveries to city official, till all areas are over 40k, then need to wait a week after its achieved and city wil change into metropolis, after it is metro its delivery development will drop like 10-100 each week till its bellow 40k again and return to normal city and loose some of its npcs recipes. check jap wiki for a list of wich items to deliver on wich city.

You just need to invest approximately 1 mil at Trujillo before the recipe with R5 firearms trading shows up.

If the development were not enough, how did I as a Spanish player got the 16 cannon recipe?!

Wow you guys are so uninformed about how stuff works, which is bad enough, then you get on here and spread it like a disease.

The colony towns can lose development over time if you don't keep them up. Just because a recipe was available last week doesn't mean it will always be there. Those towns have to be in metropolis status for this recipe to show up.

and yeah..now i just know that development(cultural thing) can be lose every week(monday maybe) after it reach 40k for each type..after city reach 40k(metropolis) invest 1m(if you havent) then recipe is there...

I really dont get this. all I get is master carronade not Maestro's carronade. am I using the wrong one? I need to figure out how to get this so I can get the cannon 16 book.

Ok just updating the info. As said before your nations collony has to be in Metropolis status and you need 1 mil investment for the recepy to show; custom carronade r14 casting r5 firearms trading... After that its just luck. Cant say if the Maestro's carro if harder than others to get lucky, but I cant remember ever having to wait more than 10 production cycles to have a great success in any type of crafting. Here, in my case (I was r16), I had to do maybe 60 normal carros before the great success came out. Still, at the end I got my 16-cannon-book :)

wow what incredible bad luck you have, i get great successes around 40% of the time and if i remember right it only took 3 tries to get a great success on this last time i attempted it (and it will be the last time i ever attempt it i think because i completed MA)

You can't start the game as an Ottoman, hopefully you've invested enough ducats in your original country's colonial port before defecting.

Alright, so I'm spanish, have r14 casting and r5 firearms. Have invested 20m in Trujillo (!). No custom carro/cannon/ recipe @ skilled caster. From the above, am I to understand that a) trujillo is my nation's colony, b) if I invest 1m or more, in a week it should be here? c) how can I check the status or improve the nation's colony?

What Do I need to contribute for Caracas?
Its not in Metropolis Status
The Culture level is at 41.6k
The Commerce level is at 39.9k
The Armament level is at 40.5k

Please advise items for Commerce.

As Veri states there is now an alternative way to get to this recipe via Company Admin Production.

But if you want to contribute one of the most commonly used items are Jeweled Turbans for raising commerce. RIBs are another item that would probably work although being from a different nation I have no personal experience with Caracas.
