The strange incident in Marseilles
I've been expecting you. You see, there are trees bursting into flames in town recently with absolutely nothing that could have started the fires that we have found. Everyone believes it is the curse of Avignon and the knights. Please, we need you to find out what's causing these fires. The Barkeep here in town knows a lot about Avignon. Perhaps he could give you some clues.

Avignon
Well if we're going to talk about Avignon then we have to talk about the pope! It was a very prosperous town to the north of here where Pope Clement V lived about 200 years ago. Probably the most spectacular thing about the town is Avignon Bridge! There's even a song about it. I bet if you ask any kid around here they'd sing it for you. Especially girls, they love to sing!

Clemens V
Pope Clement V lived in Avignon from 1309, and ever since then until Pope Gregory IX returned to Rome all the popes lived there. But, there is a bit of a legend about the place. The rumours going around town might be because of that as well. You should go speak to someone in town who knows about theology if you want to know more.

The Pope and Avignon
Within only five years of coming to Avignon the pope suddenly passed away. Going there in the first place and his death were... No, I can't say it. I don't want to burst into flames like those trees out there.

On the bridge of Avignon
The strange events of trees bursting into flames in Marseille continue to occur and the townspeople all believe it is the curse of Avignon and the knights. Avignon is a town to the north of Marseille and was the place of resident for Pope Clement V 200 years ago. He was said to have suddenly passed away after only living in the town for five years.
