      No.16633

      Edit
      Ship of the Starry Skies
      No Expiration
      San Francisco Adventurer's Guild
A sail, keel, stern, and a compass... With all these constellations, it's like we can construct a boat that can sail across the starry skies.
Can you investigate as to why all these ship parts are separated into different constellations? Maybe the ship it was modeled after, the Argo, was separated into multiple pieces in Greek mythology?
Maybe someone on Athens may know the answer.

              Legendary Ship
It's Argo, the ship boarded by the Argonauts led by Jason, which was named after her builder Argus, right?
Although it is a spectacular legend, it is also a tragic story. But I've never heard about the ship itself falling apart into pieces... How about you?

Even Though It's the Ship of a Hero
Me neither... By the way, what do you mean by a tragic story? Jason set out on a ship in his quest for the Golden Fleece, right? With so many heroes on board the ship, surely it would have been a smooth journey, would it not?

              False Love
Jason was able to reach his destination, Colchis, but was given an impossible task by the king, owner of the Golden Fleece. The goddess Hera who had known of this had given the daugther of the king of Colchis, Medea, false love and made her fall in love with Jason at first sight! Cruel, right?

              Depth of Love
              But there's more to it.
Medea was willing to do anything necessary for Jason's love. She betrayed her father to obtain the Golden Fleece. In order to escape, she killed her brother. She even assassinated her uncle for refusing to pass the throne down to Jason.

              That Woman is Scary
...Thanks to that, Jason was able to obtain the throne. But news of the assassination has spread to the people and both Jason and Medea were exiled.
Jason detested Medea's extreme behavior and was afraid of it... enough to abandon her and remarry another woman...

              Painful End
But, there's no way that Medea would just let that go. She burned Jason's marriage partner along with her father to death. As for their children...
Oh, my apologies. It appears that the story was so cruel and gruesome that I've made this young one not feel so well. Sorry, but do you mind finding out about the rest from the Seafarer in this city?

              Nostalgia of Past Glory
...Medea killed both of Jason's children and left for somewhere. After having lost everything, Jason sets off to a wandering journey but was unable to find a place to be.
At the end, he returns to the coast where the ship Argo was left upon the beach...

              Miserable Death
...While resting and reminiscing the past glory by the Argo, the ship fell apart and Jason had died laying under the debris.
It's not that pleasant of a story... I think that's probably the reason why the constellation is also separated. But i would recommand first confirming with the Scholar in this city.

              It's Too Big
The reason the Argo constellation is divided into different parts? It would be quite something if it were in accordance to mythology. However, the real reason is different.
It's because it is simply too big. Sorry that it's not a magnificent answer.
From the Madagascar Open Sea you should be able to understand just how big these constellation are.

              Ship Constellation
You've investigated the myths concernig Argo.
Apparently, the reason that the constellation was separated was simply because it was too big.
As a voyager, you do not wish to meet the same end as Jason. Let's head to Madagascar Open Sea while taking good care of your ship.

A constellation based off of the Argo's ship featured in Greek mythology. As it is quite large of a constellation, it is separated into multiple parts.
