The result of a crossover with this game:

Basically, it's a game set in the time of feudal Japan, complete with a cast of famous historical figures, but all of them... are cats. The pet looks like this:

After looking up some more info, they DID bring that nobunyaga game here to North America a couple years back. Unfortunately they pulled it after just 4 months of service, likely due to a very low player turnout. I dont think OGplanet would add a reference that few people outside Asia would know about.
