  • Hibernating African Lungfish
    Lungfish in a cocoon made from slime and dirt while underground.
    Lungfish's lungs develop as it grows, and will do most of its breathing through its lungs instead of its gills. As such, during the dry season where there is no water, it is able to survive by hibernating in the dirt.
