Beatrice

27/32/20 for me
19/20/9 for the aide
since posting that she has gotten to 45 trust but I was tired of sitting and decided to play normally again so I wonder if that has something to do with it.

We would say that when 0-30ish it's almost certain to go up every 30 minutes at sea. But at a certain Trust and higher, 40ish+, it becomes a bit more difficult to raise it. And the higher the trust, it may become even more difficult. At least that's what I've heard and what I've seen with my own Aides.
But in any case, always always make sure you have enough money on you to pay the Aides' wages, or their trust will start dropping.

what gives this effect?

Im up to 46 now. After 40 I would suggest to stay moving somehow. I am randomly floating around the north sea with caution on now. I would hazard a guess that I am getting 1 an hour doing this.

after sometime (presumably 40), it will only raise "by chance".. was what Deckhand1 answered.. and he also said that it had nothing to do with total lvl or whatsoever..

you need to have you sail on, if u just sit without opening your sails, trust doesnt go up

wrong

Definitely wrong. You can get aide trust just sitting outside port, like when SBing. I have noticed that it helps to hit a port every 30 days tho, like, to go in and come back out after you get a point.

after certain trust level, around 45, being idle barely raise trust, eventualyy nothing. you need to be moving after that point. Also, at low trust level, sailing around raise trust slighty faster than just sitting

i'm not going to say that sailing around isn't better than sitting still... but trust me, i have a LOT of experience sitting still outside a port (r15 sb, one more to go yay and stuff) and i can tell you that your trust definitely will raise while sitting still) my aide got his last 10 trust points (90-100) with me sitting stock-still.

Past 45 or so, it skips a lot of ingame months. You'll notice this more when sitting in port waiting for it to go up, and notice when you actually get a point more when you're out doing other stuff, and not "watching the clock" so to speak. It's purely subjective, and I've never noticed any real difference between moving or anchoring, when it comes to gaining trust.
