What's that? The story of Princess Sakuntala?
Oh yeah, that's one of the oldest dramas around here.
Basically, it's the story of a king and princess that fall in love. There's a girl around here who's knowledgeable of all kinds of stories. You should go talk to here if you want more details.

[IMG:02] Sakuntala, the king and the hermit
That story is now known by the name of the protagonist, Sakuntala. It's the story of a woman who falls in love with a king.
Both Sakuntala and the king fall in love with each other and get married, and the king gives her a ring as proof of their bond.
But Sakuntala ends up making an old hermit angry, and he curses her.

That curse causes the king to forget about her entirely. Although pregnant with the king's child, the king no longer recognizes Sakuntala, and thus he has her banished when she tries to get him to remember her. Desheartened over losing her love, Sakuntala goes off alone and is never heard from again.

The really sad part is, the curse was supposed to be broken when the king saw the ring he had given her. Unfortunately, Sakuntala lost the ring while bathing.
Several years later, through some stroke of luck, the ring was found and returned to the king. He remembered everyghing upon seeing it, and deeply regretted what he had done.

At this point, a messenger from God appeared and told the greving king this:
"Overcome these trals, and I will reunite you with your love."
The king readily agreed and set off for the trials, and succeeded in completing the. As promised, the king and Sakuntala were reunited, and lived happily ever after!

The drama of sakuntala is apparently being stored in a bookshelf in Calcutta, located in the centr of India. I should be able to find it if I can take a good look at that bookshelf.
