...I discovered some statues with what looked like hats on their heads near here. Some were leaning over and some had fallen over completely. I wonder how many there were...?

...I gave up on counting how many statues there were. Let's just say there were a lot of them. Some were standing, some were sitting, some were lying down... there was a large variety of them. Are these idols or are they just sculptures of people? If they're sculptures of people then I wonder if they are male or female?

...No matter how many times I look I've never seen any statues that look like the ones here. It would be impossible to derive the thought and culture of whoever made them and then try to use that to narrow down a specific region with these statues. There must be some other way...

..."King Hotu Matua erected seven statues, one for each of the emissaries. Those statues stand looking in the direction of their homeland, Hiva." I just remembered the Tahitian legend. All of the statues on this island were facing inland with their backs to the sea. I wonder why? If they are supposed to be facing their homeland then I would have thought they'd be facing out to sea..

I have decided that it would be impossible to find any clues that link to Hawaiki based on the shape of these statues. I remembered the Tahitian legend stated, "The seven statues stand looking in the direction of their homeland, Hiva." and decided to search for these seven statues. If they are pointing out to sea then that means Hiva, and ultimately Hawaiki could be located in that direction.
