1. Candidate locations
Oh, so you mean to build a fort for surveillance purposes? the town here is really too far for keeping an eye on the nimble pirates round here.... For a place that permits crossing of the strait and ease of communication, that would be the north- western tip of the peninsula, I reckon. There's a sailor who regularly traverses those parts--you should seek his counsel.

That's a brilliant idea to be sure; trouble is, the tip of the peninsula is pretty much swamp.It's hard enough to walk round there, let alone build a fort. Suppose you've come this far, though, might as well go check it out. who knows, if your search is thorough enough, maybe you can find a spot to built a fort.

Have information that there is a candidate site for a fort on the tip of a peninsula northwest of Havana. Much of the land is swamp, though, requiring a very thorough survey. Carry out a visual inspection on the peninsula's tip to confirm the situation.
