[IMG:01] Peacocks are easy birds to keep
Raising peacocks is not unlike raising chickens, and the feed is simple, making it easy to breed strong birds. Not something for an extended voyage by ship, though, eh. This town's big trader, Mr Kujarat, raises peacocks at home--he's the one to ask about peacocks.

It is true to say that the raising of peacocks is almost the same as that of chickens, but with one difference: peacocks need wide, open spaces. Owing to their very long, decorative tail feathers, of course. Crammed aboard a ship or the like, they would survive, but with serious damage to the feathers. You're come all this way, be sure and take a peek at the wild ones on the outskirts before you go.

Word is that taking a peacock back by ship is just not on. Since it seems that wild peacock strut the outskirts of Calicut, go and observe. Indication is that they're about the oblique rocks in the southeast. Perhaps picking up a feather is not out of the question.
