                      1. Scholarly Inquiry
It appears that you've landed on the continent several times to conduct a variety of investigations. I think you and your experience could be of service, so i have a favor to ask of you, but first... Have you ever felt strange while sailing near that area? When you looked from the water over to the land there, did you ever feel... strange?

                      2. Impression of a Merchant
It's hill-like but zig-zags a bit more than a mountain should... That's how a merchant transporting supplies for the colonization of te continent described it to me. Based on that, i have been trying to get impressions from voyagers who have headed to that area. From the various conversations i have heard....

                      3. From Various Perspetives
A voyager versed in geography told me, "It's not high enough to be a mountain range." Another versed in biology said, "It's just like a snake". So... that's why i thought it'd be best to have someone versed in archaeology like yourself to be the one who investigates the hill this time.

                      4. Prepare for Departure
However, not much is known about that continent... I think you'll need to roll up your sleeves and put in a bit of honest labor. Please proceed to the area around the hill itself and use your archaeological expertise to try and undercover some sort of clue. I am sure that there was a place in the continent's interior where you can disembark. That should be the landing closest to the hill.

                      5. Looking Up at the Hill
They are indeed too low to be mountains, and the way in which the range extends is unnatural. There is some level of regularity to how the range twist and turns, and it looks almost exactly like a coiled snake to the south... Let's try and get a better look at it.

                      6. Scan the Area
The area around the hill somehow seems lower than it should be. Could this be... a moat? If so, that would make it quite likely tha the hill was man-made. I wonder if the moat was dug around the hill to stave off invaders. But then, why would they need to protect the hill with a moat? As to that...

                      7. The Artificial Hill
My guess is that the moat was dug to protect the hill, because "there was something inside worth protecting." However, the entrance is not obvious at first glance. Perhaps it is located elsewhere... Or perhaps a full-blown excavation will eventually be necessary. Let's examine the hill one last time.

                        • Serpent Mound ★★★★★★ (Historic site) Exp:1120 Fame:428
A mound in eastern North America formed in the shape of a snake and surrounded by a moat. The hill may have been a tomb, but there is much about it that is unknown. The serpentine shape may have some connection with a constellation.
