                          1. Worship of crocodiles
From the stories I've heard the people on that island think that their ancestors were alligators and they worship them as spirits.
Also, to make themselves more like alligators they scarify their backs when they become an adult in order to make the skin more like an alligator's. Maybe you could find out more information about them in Run since it's much closer to the island than here

                          2. Also worship of spirits
Wow, you know about the alligator worshippers already? Well, alligators aren't the only thing they believe in. They also pay respect to the spirits of their ancestors and they believe in a number of other spirits as well. Anyway, if you want to know about them and their relationship to alligators you can probably find out more from that merchant over there.

                          3. Drowning girl
The owner of this place talks about everyone's past even though it's none of his business.. You see, the waters to the east of here haven't been developed yet and so I set sail out that way thinking I could find some decent trade goods. I had just gotten to the mouth of the Sepik River on the the island to the east when I saw a girl drowning.

                          4. To her bridegroom
After I saved her she said she wanted to thank me so I went with her to her village. Let me tell you, they really treated me nice there! Unfortunately, I shouldn't have accepted their hospitality.. Because of the language barrier and other factors I didn't even realize that they were preparing me to be her husband!

                          5. Gift of a statue
Of course, I wouldn't have minded marrying her. Unfortunately there's that ritual where they scarify there backs before marriage. Needless to say I turned them down and got out of there as fast as I could! But, before I left they gave me a statue that they said contains the spirit of an alligator to protect me on my journey.

                          6. Take statue to the town official
I don't know if it was just me or not but I just thought it was too weird so I gave it to Town Official to hold onto for me. But now every time I go to sleep that darn statue comes up in my dreams. The Town Official better be handling that thing properly is all I say ... If you see him, be sure to let him know I said that!

                          7. Parted with the statue
To people on the island to the east have something that they call a "spirit house" in which they have many idols and mask for worship. The statue that the merchant brought back with him is one of those statue. What? You want to know where that statue is? Ah, well... you see... I got rid of it because I just couldn't stand the sight of it...

                          8. Statue dream
I may just be thinking about it too much but ever since then that statue keeps coming up in my dreams. All I did was pack it nicely in a box and return it back to the eastern island... Sorry, but would you mind going to dig it up for me? It should be buried next to a large rock. Use that as a guide to help you find it and please, try to hurry...

                          9. Statue of spirit of New Guinea
The people on the Island of New Guinea worship alligators as spirits, They also believe in many other types of spirits and have countless statues and masks that are said to contain them. One of those idol statues was buried on southern coast of the Island of New Guinea beside a large boulder. I should try to find it.
