Hey, you've heard of Mount Koya, right?
Apparently it's a sacred site, first settled by this monk named Kukai. There's a monk following Kukai's trail who's searching for the staff he used. I wonder if there's anybody who knows about Buddhism in Sakai?

              Monk named Kukai
I heard Kukai was an outstanding monk. When he was young he traveled across China to study. And when he returned, he taught the people the path of Buddhism. I'd have like to have received his teachings, just once. There might be a book about Kukai in the Archives.

              An Achievement of Kukai
Kukai accomplished numerous things in his lifetime. After returning from China, he founded the "True Word" sect, and also an academic institution in the capital. Academia was only open to the aristocracy at this time, and this institution finally opened learning to the general public. This was where opposition to his ideas finally appeared...

              Following Kukai's footsteps
Based on the record of the academic institution in the capital, it is likely that the Buddhist monk, Kukai was active in the area around the capital. If you land on the coast northeast of Nagasaki and walk towards the southeast you might find his item along the way.

Staff once possessed by the Japanese monk, Kukai.
When moved, the rings on top touch and make sound. This sound is said to expunge all worldly desires.
