Cuban Governor Velazquez
The Cuban Governor, Velazquez requested that I assault Tlaxcala's weapons transport ship. I should be able to capture it at sea to the north of Vera Cruz.
Weapons transport sunk
Just as requested, I sailed near Vera Cruz in the Gulf of Mexico and sank the Tlaxcala weapons transport ship. For a second, I thought I saw Xochitl on the aboard the enemy ship... A lifeboat managed to escape to Vera Cruz. I should go there and investigate.
The second Cortes
According to Velazquez, Xochitl is in command of shipping weapons. Apparently she escaped through the town gates towards Tenochtitlan. I've been ordered to capture her and persuade her to surrender. Las Casas is criticising Velazquez as a possible second Cortes, but so far he's dodged these attacks neatly.
Xochitl's stampede
I found Xochitl injured amongst the trees to the southeast of Vera Cruz. She said that upon learning that Ahuitzotl was killed by Cuauhtemoc, she decided to be near Cortes in the hope of getting revenge and killing Cuauhtemoc herself.
What the dead think
The increasingly desperate Xochitl was stopped by the missing Cuauhtemoc. He told her that she was trapped in the past and that, "The dead do not feel". He said he wants to speak of Ahuitzotl's plans.
To the future
Ahuitzotl, concerned with the hate and sadness caused by the conflict between the two countries, decided to fight the Azects in order to bring happniess in the future. Xochitl, saying that she would put an end to this herself, left. I should report Cuauhtemoc's warning and the vague story of the armoury.
Think of the past and future, live in the present
Velazquez, the Governor of Cuba has begun to move against Cortes. Xochitl, now with Cortes, and the now present Cuauhtemoc have taken steps towards what they believe is a better future. Will the Aztecs fall under the evil influence of Cortes...?
