Monster birds, again

Athens Adventurer's Guild
Hey, it was you who investigated for me about a "tall bird", right? That Scholar has another request to find out about a bird. This request apparently involves a bird bigger than any seen until now...

Haast's Eagle Rumours from London
Thank you for your help investigating the "Tall Bird" of Madagascar island. I've now heard tell of another giant bird. A bird like none have ever seen before can apparently be found an island far to the east...
Giant bird in the east
You want to know about the giant bird? It's been quite the hot topic lately. A massive bird recently reported to live on an island to the far east. The leg bone that was carried back as proof, however, is just so large that is has stirred up quite a bit of controversy. You might not believe this yourself. After all, it would have to be taller than a grown man...!
Bird's bones
Where was the bone found, you ask? It is still under investigation, so the details haven't been made public yet. All we know is that the island is a long way away. They are either keeping the details to themselves because they don't want anyone else to beat them to it, or because the whole thing is a pot of lies...
Ship from Amboyna
Are you planning on looking for the giant bird yourself? I heard the bone was delivered on a ship out of Amboyna... Personally, however, I don't believe such a bird exists. Amboyna is a long way away, too, so I can't really recommend going to search for it.
Bird bones from Aotearoa
You want to know if the bones of a large bird were sent out from here? Actually, yes, I did handle such a cargo. I asked what they wanted with such a bone, and they said they were investigating a rare species of bird. Just what is a bone going to tell them, eh? The bone came from Aotearoa originally, anyway.
A large bird with no wings
A bird larger than a man? If you have to ask then I guess you aren't from around here. Everyone knows about it around here. The bird you want is big enough to make a grown man look upward, and has no wings, right?
Bird paradise
What's that? Not having wings means it can't be a bird? You're not from around here, so I guess I'll let that comment go. That's exactly the kind of bird we have here. It does surprise everyone who visits, though, so I guess it must be something a bit special. Right, anyway, where to find it...
Chased into the forest
They did all live around here, once. But they have started to decrease in number recently, and so started to move deeper and deeper into the forest. Guess those big birds don't like us much, eh? If you want to see one then you'll have to go through the gate and out into the forest.
Large egg fragments
Near a large rock, you find what looks like fragments of ceramics... Looking closer, they are actually pieces of egg shell. But even these fragments suggest a massive size. A complete egg must be as big as the head of a man. The animal that lays these massive eggs must live here in the forest, anyway.
Investigation of the large flightless bird
According to the residents of Wanganui the giant bird you are searching for lives deep inside the forest outside town, away from the eyes of man. You did indeed find evidence of a large egg in the forest to the west of Wanganui. Investigate deeper into the forest.

A flight-less bird that lives in the forest of Aotearoa. At first glance it looks like an ostrich, but there are no wings. It can grow to be a giant of over 4 meters tall. Reports indicate a sizable population at one time, but as people began to live on the island, its numbers have dramatically reduced.
