Hey, I heard that you found an old Buddhist temple on Java... A Scholar said that he would like you to investigate a Buddhist effigy of Akshobhya. Can I count on you? Islam arrived on Java long ago, but Buddhism still remains apparently on the eastern part of the island. Go to Surabaya to ask around.

1. Untouched statue is...
Islam has also spread here to a great degree. So it's not easy to find an image of Buddha. But if you travel far inland, there's probably some statues that remain intact. Why don't you go to the Buddhist temple you found? If you examine it closely, something might just turn up.

2. Statue of Akshobhya
Buddhism was worshipped in Java a long time ago. But Islam has spread a lot recently, so it will be difficult apparently to obtain an image of Buddha. It seems that your chances are not very good unless you search further inland. Some images of Buddha may be kept at Borobudur. Go have a look.

One of the Amitabha from Buddhist teachings. The name means unmoving or solid in Sanskrit. Whether it evolved from that or the reverse, Akshobhya is said to possess a strong and stubborn resolve and fearsome power.
