      No.2119

      Edit
      Island on the green sea
      No Expiration
      Athens Adventurer's Guild
If we put together the story up to now, Atlantis was a prosperous island in front of the Pillars of Hercules, and the ocean around it was called Atlantis. And it was warm all year round and verdant, the metal Orichalcum was used, and the island was destroyed in earthquakes and floods. What does it all mean?

              1. sea of Atlantis
So Atlantis is supposed to be in front of the Pillars of Hercules, or basically Gibraltar right? Well, the sea outside Gibraltar is called the atlantic. I wonder if the name Atlantic actually came from the fact that Atlantis was there?

              2. Diodoros' book
I am pretty sure there is a passage in a book by Greek historian Didorus that explains where Atlantis used to be... supposedly the first person to discover Atlantis was a Pheonician that was sailing the waters just outside the Pillars of hercules. Atlantis is also said to have developed many colonies in Eygpt and many other surrounding regions.

              3. Island opposite Libya
There is a large island that stretches across the waters on the other side of Libya, and it was after sailing for several days to the west of there that I saw it. The continent was lush with greenery and full of mountains, while the remainder was beautiful flatlands.

              4. The Azores
It was several days sailing to the west of Gibraltar and was full of greenery and mountains... Is he talking about the azores? Supposedly you can mine plenty of gemstones there, the sea around the islands is full of whales, and the islands are littered with volcanoes. Sounds like a match to me. i bet someone in Iberia would know some details.

              5. everything still a mystery
the azores are full of greenery and mountains, and they are pretty much exactly the same distance and angle away as the book says. i wouldn't be surprised if all those islands used to be connected in the past. But the Azores were completely unpopulated. There haven't been any signs of civilization found there at all. I suppose nobody alive today really knows if the Azores Islands are remnants of atlantis or not...

              6. The island in a sea of green
the Greek historian didorus writes that Atlantis was a few days by sea west of Gibraltar and was an island full of lush greenery and mountains. The Portugese territory of the azores Islands fits this description but the azores are unpopulated and there are no signs of any civilization having lived there.
